The forecasters were calling Harvey a Cat 4 hurricane before it made landfall, and while it packed some serious winds that devastated much of Rockport and rains that left Huston reeling from the floodwaters, it doesn't look like a Cat 4 storm to me The Global Warming cultists so wanted a major catastrophe so they could pound their chests and yell "See? See? See?" But I don't think they got quite the killer storm they had hoped for Especially considering that Al Gore's propaganda films claimed we would have far more and far more serious storms by now We have always had hurricanes. Was this proof that the Global Warming cult has been right all along, or is it just another ordinary hurricane, exactly like thousands of other hurricanes before it What say you

If that's not a serious storm, I've no idea what might count as one. WTF does any of that have to do with global warming? Or Al Gore? I have been in 60 mph winds, and I can tell you, that will do the job. Not pleasant. We had 80 mph winds hit in a microburst a few years back -- like a giant took a machete to a stand of trees. So when a Cat 4 slows to 75 mph winds, that's a storm that would still get my attention. Likewise, we've had a lot of localized flooding the past few years. But flooding from the coast to 100 miles inward? No way I would minimize that. ----------------- We've been having tornadoes in NY -- many more than before. No idea if it has to do with global warming. Lot of factors go into things like that. But I can assure you, even in (relatively progressive NY, because bounty lives here too), no one is waiting for or wanting greater tornadoes, water spouts, or hurricanes. That's just fucked up even to suggest that. Likewise that anyone wants a Christian conservative terrorist. You have such a bizarre bunker mentality. You're fighting a war in your head that no one is fighting with you. Thoughts and prayers with Texas at this difficult time.
