Status: offline 		You may well be right about the dates (which is the most important point here), but the most noted Hotchkiss model did not have a single barrel. They were much more noted for a rotary cannon than for their other models.

I support RESPONSEABLE gun ownership.

The founding fathers (u know, the guys u usually invoke to support this shit? ) of America knew the rights of gun ownership came with the RESPONSEABILITY of gun ownership. For as much as they get used to prop up this death march, why their example goes unheeded I just don't get.

all my friends in rural Minnesota who are serious hunters and sport shooters practice RESPONSEABILITY, I don't see why anyone else cant. And to Me, (and to them.) its just plain lazy or u don't give a damn enough to not be responsible for ur weapons.

that means if u buy a gun,...buy a lock, or a gun safe for it. There are plenty of compact hand gun safes for ur house, car, etc., ...where only the owner knows the combo and can get armed in seconds, dispatch an intruder, and be waiting for the cops to get there before the coffee gets cold.

the fucked up shit of gun owners who have NRA stickers all over their house & car, leaving unsecured handguns under the car seat, bed pillow, and/or putting weapons in flimsy wood and glass gun cases and then are shocked when some druggie busts in when they aren't home, and takes everything including the matching ammo in the unlocked fiberboard cabinet underneath is just plain irresponsible and downright stupid.

And in no time at all, somebody else's family is devastated to find out where that gun got used next before the ink is dry on the former gun owners insurance check.

A gun safe where the dumbass thief has to damn near break his back to try to get it out the house and STILL cant get into the safe if they do is too damn easy to buy.

Otherwise, after that The only winners are the gunmakers, gun lobby, and undertakers. are u one of those? I Don't think so.

undertakers cant care the least...... white or Black ur money is green like the grass when they put u under it and don't care how u got there.

Nothing you just said changed the idea you put forth that white men shouldn't have the right to own a gun because of black men.

In a way the Gatlin was horribly beautiful

It's a design classic, no question. I'm always puzzled that the steampunks are more obsessed with pocket watches and top hats than weapons that were cutting edge engineering during the nineteenth century.

You are just digging yourself deeper and deeper. You see, we don't take away honest people's rights because of criminals. Your argument could be extended to say no one should have the right to drive a car because of drunk drivers.

But is he saying that gun rights should be limited because of this? I see where he is bitching about irresponsible owners (and I don't know if what he is saying is correct or not), but I don't see him saying that gun rights should be limited because of them

Certainly, tweak does not need a defense from me. She has a long history on this forum of defending herself more than adequately. Status: offline 		On the subject of the OP: South Africa was not a better place because whites were in the minority. This is where Moore’s comment breaks down. It is all about Power. That explains the current struggle over voting power for people of color. It’s pretty much like the black laws that followed reconstruction in 1880. You might say we are in a period of reconstruction after the 1964, 1965 civil rights revolution. People of color need to wake up and understand how meaningful and important the voting power is.

I should have said we are in an era of post reconstruction, post civil rights, and ham-handed law and order ascendancy. That will lead to more rebellion I think.

Pprobably because the second amendment applies less to negroes than it does to white folk. Just look at the fuss the Police and the (then) head of the NRA threw about one of those rap chappies making a record about shooting bluebottles, or the issues that a few of the Panthers had with open carry in the '70s.
Really, this the sort of situation that the NRA dreams about because the solution to the problem is more rather than less guns, dig?
