Status: offline 		Then there are suspicions that the police and others were ordered not to arrest anybody for assault and for many (including me) there is concrete evidence mounting that something was very wrong with how all of the state police. NG and local police...failed to act.

If they had, maybe that woman would still be alive. Took two weeks but they finally arrested this fucking nazi.

The difference is obvious, when a black person kills another black person, it's called murder and many still go unsolved.

When a white police officer shoots and kills an unarmed black person, it's justifiable homicide as the officer feared for their safety and felt they were in danger. (from an unarmed person)

So now, white police officers have carte blanch to 'fear for their safety'...anytime they want.

Give it time but there will be a one when businesses will scream because their customers fear the police too much to come out to their restaurants and shows.

Yes, there were KKK rallies under Obama... but racist incidents have been on the rise since Trump. When an unapologetic racist becomes president, the wrong people get the message that it's okay to 'take back the country'.

And there are stories about the prison system in the media-- the idea that 'you don't hear about that' is absurd. It isn't being drilled into our heads every day because it's an ongoing issue and there aren't any dramatic flare-ups, just perpetual discrimination and oppression that is so endemic and so institutionalized that we have all gotten used to it. It's like pointing out that white supremacists have been infiltrating law enforcement:

These slow, gradual trends, awful as they are, tend to stay hidden simply because there's no spectacle involved.

Also, bringing up personal experiences and visits to the gym and Starbucks as if they're a solid indication of trends in race relations around the country shouldn't even have to be called out as a fallacy, but it's probably needed here anyways.

I can't respond to the whole gish gallop she has put forward here, but I will say she did a nice job of expressing a lot of right-wing talking points in a tone that the RWNJs will definitely respond to. The fact that she's black means they can all say they like her and pretend they wouldn't be uncomfortable being in the same room as her.
