ORIGINAL: MrRodgers Example: How many statues do you see of, how many schools, cities and towns are named after Lincoln...in the former confederacy ? None or I am sure some partisan ilk here will go look to find one or maybe...maybe two. And this will be out of 200 cities and 600 schools total US...named for Lincoln. 18 regular public schools named for Lincoln in Texas, three public charter schools named for Lincoln.... As for cities and towns in the US, not all were named after President Lincoln, a lot were named for the founder of the town, because of the simple fact that the surname Lincoln is kind of wide spread in the UK, derived from lindo (lake) and colonia (settlement) you know, since people sorta had the habit of taking the place they were born as a surname in the middle ages, so your argument is invalid. Just like Lee is not necessarily named for Robert E. Lee, it could have been Lighthorse Harry Lee, from the American Revolution, in fact the surname Lee is pretty prominent in American History. So, in essence, your argument is not really centered on reality.
