FBI Refuses To Turn Over Clinton Email Docs Due To A Lack Of Public Interest

Jack Crowe Political Reporter | 10:44 PM 08/29/2017

The FBI refused to turn over documents related to its investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails, citing a lack of public interest to justify denying a FOIA request for the records.

The head of the FBI Records Management Division wrote Ty Clevenger, a New York Attorney who filed the FOIA request in March 2016, to inform him that his request was being denied in late August.

“You have not sufficiently demonstrated that the public’s interest in disclosure outweighs personal privacy interests of the subject,” the letter, obtained by Fox News, reads. “Therefore, records regarding your subject are withheld pursuant to FOIA exemptions.”

“How can a story receive national news coverage and not be a matter of public interest? If this is the new standard, then there’s no such thing as a public interest exception.”

The 'journalist' needs to brush up on his English.
What the statement means is that your 'need to know' doesn't outweigh Hillary's right to privacy.

It has nothing to do with how interested RWNJs are to find a scandal that will distract everyone from the orange piece of shit.

I was not aware of an exemption to FOIA based on an arbitrary decision about public interest. The whole concept sounds completely ridiculous and fraught with corruption.

this topic is also in the Hillary probed thread.

How about you post all of your private emails here on the forum?
I would really like to read through them.

That's so smart...oh wait. Did he send and receive private emails on a government computer while at work for the government on government time?

No, but I personally don't like him so he must be hiding something, and if not, I at least want to see him humiliated and every detail of his private life scrutinized as a distraction.
That's what this is REALLY about.

I just love that we have zionist conspiracy boy making excuses for a president who has two daughters married to kikes (one of whom has converted to their insidious and evil religion to show her submission to the zionist conspiracy before marrying a soon to be Elder of Zion), the management level of his companies stuffed with jewish executives (who's better at hiding profits, swindling the IRS and extorting free labour than jews, after all? They were doing that shit long before anybody thought about protesting tea tax, and set up a political party to blame all of their evildoing on the masons...), and who brown nosed Bibi nearly as hard as he did the Saudis (without even a medal to show for it as well!) during his tour of the middle east.
Mind you, the elements of the neofscist/white supremacist right who've pointed this out have been shouted down by the Klansmen who still insist that the orange zionist is on their side, haven't they?

Had Hillary been a private citizen at the time I would agree with that 100%, however she was a public official, i.e. Secretary of State, and therefore her emails should be official government records and open to public inspection.
It's ironic that the same people calling for Trump to release his tax records from when he was a private citizen, are the same people saying Hillary's emails from her time as a public servant should be withheld.
Candidates releasing tax records is simply a custom, but there has never been any binding legal requirement to do so. There ARE laws regarding the records of office holders and public officials though, that make them public records.

Okay, we get it. Trump isn't prejudiced against Jews, and you are. No need for you to go to extremes to make that clear to everyone.

Hmmmm, would not the existence of a FOIA request be an indication of an interest by at least a portion of the public?

It was a custom started by that evil Nixon.

She was also cleared by the FBI, which of course no one who supports Trump is allowed to trust.
I wonder why?

What is really going on here is that Trump and the RWNJ news outlets want to release the emails so that they can twist her words, take statements out of context, and do whatever they can to make it look like she made some corrupt deal with the FBI/Comey/whoever has ties to the Trump investigation.
They want to help Trump undermine the credibility of the FBI in the eyes of the idiot masses and put the focus back on Hillary at the same time.
They have already been trying to do this, but releasing the emails would give their propaganda legs.

Yes, releasing tax returns is a tradition with which Trump broke.

But tax returns aren't like personal exchanges with people you trust, the numbers don't lie-- they will simply show what Trump's accountants were doing for him, as well as his business deals. Nothing personal, nothing about his friends or family or business partners, no backstabbing, vulgarity or shit talking.
The issue with Trump's tax returns is mostly the fact that he is so aggressively opposed to releasing them, even when not releasing them leads to endless speculation about his extremely sketchy real estate dealings with Russian oligarchs.
Hiding something of a highly personal nature isn't the same thing as hiding something that, if it is what you are saying it is, would go a long way towards clearing your name in the eyes of the public.

Sarcasm isn't very effective or obvious when it includes derogatory terms such as "Kike."

Sarcasm ≠ using terms at face value. That's the whole fucking point of sarcasm, or any other form of irony.

Not cleared, just not prosecuted. Had she had an (R) after her name you'd be howling still. This point has been brought up before and I know you've seen it.

Your so smart, you must have just momentarily forgotten.
