MasterJaguar01 -> The REPUBLICAN Establishment is trying to nullify the 2016 election (9/8/2017 10:31:34 PM)

That's right... The REPUBLICAN establishment is trying to nullify the 2016 election. Damn Republicans... Can't come to grips with the fact that the Electoral College elected Trump.

Gotta love Steve Bannon.

MrRodgers -> RE: The REPUBLICAN Establishment is trying to nullify the 2016 election (9/8/2017 10:56:04 PM)

I see this going one of two ways.....

Either Trump can use the similarities between dem and repub tax reform, the next big thing, forge a new majority, things could get better and we just might see more bipartisanship.

OR, the repubs feel snubbed, hate the 'clean out the swamp' rhetoric and then do to Trump what they did to Obama, and even Obama's last salvo wasn't that far from the repubs and any further cooperation between Trump and the repubs could be dead.

Real0ne -> RE: The REPUBLICAN Establishment is trying to nullify the 2016 election (9/8/2017 11:12:54 PM)

Prior to the election I said something along the lines of "maybe a Trump Presidency will get the Dems and GOP working together, if for nothing more than to oppose Trump."

The GOP may be pissed off at Trump, but, it's their own fault. They nominated a guy who isn't really a Republican to be the Republican candidate. Now, they're pissed that the non-Republican candidate (they nominated) won and isn't espousing solely GOP positions. Huh. 'magine that.

Makes on wonder if the GOP is going to follow the same path as the Whig Party and fracture and be defunct (and what Party will rise out of the ashes).

THEY (The Republican establishment) didn't nominate Trump. They opposed him at every turn. The Republican voters, filled with their daily Fox news pablum nominated Truump.

If the GOP had changed the rules to override the delegates vote, there would hae been an uprising from the Trumpers and the party would have fallen apart then and there.

The GOP could have changed the rules and not nominated Trump. They did not do that. They nominated Trump. They supported their candidate through the rest of the campaign. Hell, they should have told him right off the bat that he isn't qualified to have the Republican nomination because he's not a Republican.

Instead, like the Whig Party, they chose a populist rather than someone who fit the party platform. Time will tell if the current Republican Party goes the way of the Whig Party (and what replaces it), or not.

Yes, they could have. There would have been a revolt, and the party would have split right then.

I don't know how true that would be. But, the party may still and up split, so was the wait worth it? Let's say half the party supported Trump and the other half didn't. I'm not sure it wouldn't have been better to not nominate him and deal with the consequences back then, rather than wait 4 years for it to happen anyway.

But Hilary!
[;)]
(Seriously, they'd have closed ranks behind a nomination for Osama bin Laden's corpse with the late Hugo Chavez as his veep if the alternative was splitting the party at a time when a democrat called Clinton was standing for election, wouldn't they?)

Hillwilliam -> RE: The REPUBLICAN Establishment is trying to nullify the 2016 election (9/9/2017 2:56:15 PM)

Of course the Republicans are trying to nullify the election of a LIFELONG DEMOCRAT

I've often used Genghis Khan as the example but your guys will do. But why not, this bitch was more man than Ramses II who had maybe 100 children.

Khan, shit...said to have fathered at least 1,000 children, possibly as many as 2,000 from as many as 3000 wives. Poly master of the Gods.

Genetic analysis has shown he is a male-line ancestor of 0.5% of the world's population.

Yes, there is a 1 in 200 chance that any one man could be a blood descendant of Khan.

One of us hey ?

The 2016 election is null and void. Putin installed his preferred candidate with the help of his Russian hackers, face book bots, bannon and that ilk and their right wing unhinged nutter press.

Trump is a Washington outsider. It is only logical that those who have profited most suckling the public teat will resist cleaning up the swamp.

Exactly how has he cleaned up the swamp so far? The fucker's had nine months and he's done nothing. Carter started cutting costs before he asked where the bathroom was back in '76, FFS.

Holy CRAP!!!!

Steve Bannon makes complete sense!

Just watched the entire 60 mins interview.

Other than 2 things:

1) His requisite denial of collusion with Russia
2) His being a complete Trump apologist (even though he knows better)

He makes a boatload of sense in everything he says. (At least in that interview)

Yep... Steve Bannon!

I grew up across the street from a Jewish communist family. The kids were part of the instigators of the Berkeley riots in the 60's. i used to listen to them talking about killing all of the millionaires. The Father would go off on heated rants about how if FDR hadn't of brought then"New Deal" there would have been a revolution. You sound just a silly as he did. LMAO at you.
