Just as the Democrats compromised in the Clinton years... the Republicans will need to today. There should be NO our way or no way... Congress must remember they represent people of both parties and with the near 50 50 divide only compromise will serve all.

Well, The GOP forgot that when Newt trotted on his "Contract on America."

They've never realized it isn't working.

Or perhaps more accurately, they just don't care.

Newt and Clinton did a lot more dealing and compromising than most folks give them credit for.
That is one reason the country prospered.

It's true.

But the "no compromise" stance started with Newt, and their caucus is still chanting it.

Not even with each other.

One does not compromise with antifa-supporting fascists who want you dead.

What a strange (and uncalled for) reaction.

That Trump is working with Democrats doesn't necessarily mean a shift in political alliances. This is Trump we're talking about. His motivation could entirely be to stick it to McConnell and Ryan for not magically passing his agenda.
A trend toward working with Democrats remains to be seen.

Very good points.

OMG look at this right wing news:

http://www.dailywire.com/news/20727/wednesday-was-trumps-first-day-democratic-ben-shapiro

Here is someone on the right who understands what Trump is.
But the whole 'turning point' thing reminds me of when everyone was saying he was finally becoming 'presidential' after his speech to congress.

Trump has no party, no loyalties, no policies, no ideas, no vision, no leadership skills.
He is a con man whose fragile ego and desperate need to be loved is his Achilles heel.

Maybe today Schumer and co. benefitted from that, but tomorrow who the fuck knows.

Hillwilliam -> RE: A turning point in the Trump presidency? (9/12/2017 7:13:58 AM)

Meh, he's a lifelong Democrat. the wingnuts are just now figuring it out.

No, he's a child.
He responds to shiny lights, affection, popularity and compliments.

Democrats are still politicians and everything, but behind all of that marketing there is still a sense of what it means to be very very slightly left of center.

Seriously, you need to stop pretending Trump is your savior.
He has zero interest in doing what you think he wants to do.

Even the people who somehow believe he was better than Hillary have a more respectable position than anyone who actually believes his bullshit.

Let's examine this.
AntiFa is documented to have fought against Hitler.
You have identified Hitler as a leftist by saying that Leftists follow him.
That would make AntiFa Right Wing.

You hate AntiFa
Therefore........... You're a LEFTY Ms FONDA[sm=lol.gif]

So there were no "good people" among the thousands of antifa protesters at Charlottesville .... All the "good people" stood shoulder to shoulder with the neo-Nazis, the KKK and the racist peddlers of hate ... so Bosco would have us believe.

It's becoming clearer and clearer that Bosco's and the looney Right's notions of what "good people" means is a million miles removed from the everyday meaning of the term, and just as far removed from what most of us would consider "good people".

"Good people", virtually by definition, never ever stand shoulder to shoulder with neo-Nazi and racist scum, no matter the pretext or nominal cause. "Good people" do not associate in public or private with people whose agenda is hate, violence and genocide ie the agenda of the neo-Nazis, KKK and racist scum who Bosco diligently defends and has defended since the terrorist outrage at Charlottesville - a terrorist outrage committed by one of those "good people" in the looney Right/white supremacist movements.

Genuinely "good" people would rather be dead than seen in such contaminated despicable company
