Freeing himself from the vile malignant influence of Bannon is one step that Trump has taken that can be applauded by just about everyone except the looney Right. It remains to be seen whether Trump can free himself of the policies that Bannon championed and resonated strongly with his base. It will take more than a single policy about turn, or one compromise with the Dems to convince many that the stench surrounding Bannon and his 'ideas' has been permanently expunged from the Trump Presidency.

Promoting himself as a pragmatic independent President makes a lot of sense for Trump, and offers one avenue for him to salvage his Presidency from chaotic train wreck it has been to date. His ties to the GOP have always been expedient, a marriage of convenience where neither party was completely comfortable, so there's no ideological baggage tying him to the GOP.

The big question is whether Trump has the political nous to seize the opportunity and run with it. Only a fool would predict Trump's future moves - quite probably no one, including Trump himself, knows what he is going to do one, three, six or more months from today. So time will tell all and until the question is resolved, it might be best to remain skeptical, and perhaps for the first time in a long time, just a tad optimistic.

Trump is an inexperience politician. He is learning and finding his way. All that is happening is expected. His heart is in the right place. At the end of four years, I won't be surprise if he gets voted in again.

Still has heavy ethical and moral baggage. He has a more shady past then any previous pres. so let's not hold our breath.

I want to see and hear a speech and a news conference that doesn't turn into a rally or rant.

I'll need to see Trump and I very doubt I will, forbid huge corp. and personal tax cuts especially in the face even though way down since TARP, of a $440 billion which is BTW, only 10.75% of the whole.

I want him to tell Sessions to back off all pot.

I am sure there is more but I do tire of this far too real 'reality' show.

He lacks the capacity to learn. Change is very hard for even the best of us, let alone the worst of us. He is all that he ever has been, and ever will be.
But as I said yesterday on some else’s thread, as you were the first to say on here, I think elements of senility have long taking up residence. It may very well be Alzheimer’s as you pointed out quite some time ago, but couldn’t it easily be syphilis?

Two days ago I watched him in an interview from when the twin towers came down (16 years or so ago) and do you know what? He handled himself not too bad. And then I see him now and think is that really the same person! I think not.

Clips of 60 Minutes and Bannon interview have begun popping up on you tube. (Has that episode aired yet because I want to watch it all?)
Bannon was the one who controlled the President, he still does.

Now, back to Op and has he turned the corner? Are you familiar with the expression bent fuck?

Greta it is not President Trump's lack of experience that is the problem ... it is his policies... his heart is not in the right place for all Americans.
