Sean Spicer basically admitted that he was willing to lie for Trump

Sean Spicer claims it was his job to say whatever President Trump told him to say.

“That's what you sign up to do,” the former White House press secretary said Wednesday on ABC's “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” late-night show.

Revisiting his memorable briefing-room debut — a tirade against the media in which he falsely claimed that Trump's Inauguration Day crowd was the largest in history — Spicer basically admitted that he was willing to lie for Trump.

“Even if you know the crowd wasn't bigger, you have to go — as press secretary, you have to say that it was,” Kimmel said, trying to understand Spicer's position.

“Look, your job as press secretary is to represent the president's voice,” Spicer replied, “and to make sure that you are articulating what he believes, [what] his vision is on policy, on issues and on other areas that he wants to articulate. Whether or not you agree or not isn't your job.”

The key phrase here is “other areas.” On policy matters, Spicer is certainly correct. No two people will agree on policy 100 percent of the time, but a good spokesman sets aside his own opinion and publicly represents the view of his boss.

Cinnamon Spicer was by far his best pick ever. It was madness to let that terrier go.

Was it wrong of me to like the Mooch profanity laced tirade? (you all read that right! for it is truly wonderful)

And his 3rd stooge is who, or is this the 4th one?

I actually think he should get down on his draft dodging bone spurs and plead to Sean Spicer to come back. Another part of me thinks (Trump) just uses people and discards them, promptly at that.

No, that is why I am not in politics.

When you get caught in petty lies, then nobody can trust you on things that really matter.

When your job every day is to stand up and speak to a crowd of suspicious people that sometimes check things like facts, then that's probably not such a good thing.

That said, there may be times when there is no choice but to give a different view of the facts. Like in times of war, I can't imagine any government official telling the public we're getting our asses kicked on all fronts; or that we're slaughtering innocents.

In any crisis, you have to keep a positive front, and present the president's policies & such in the absolute best light possible.

Which isn't the same thing as lying, sadly...

Plus it's redundant. He's already lying, so that's covered.

Several, both conservatives and liberals, consider anything they don't agree with to be a lie.

I disagree, I don't think many of them lie, they're just too stupid and narrow minded to accept reality and established facts. Which in some ways is even worse than lying.

Tell that to the liberals who refused to vote for Hillary knowing full well how corrupt she was. The same liberals who preferred Bernie, the only candidate who could have easily beaten trump. Your partisan blindness that all liberals loved Hillary is beyond moronic. If you honestly see the world in such stark black and white, you clearly haven't left your shack in the middle of the woods to explore what the real world is like and how people have varying opinions and experiences. But I digress, Obama absolutely lied that he would bring change. He was just as much an establishment democrat as Hilary, albeit he was a better world leader than she could ever be. The dems got duped for sure, but he was still a hell of a lot better than the alternatives. Although in all honesty I think many would still take Mcain over Trump any day, I know I would. When you're faced with an even worse prospect, it's easy to choose the devil you know, and in that case it was Obama. It's not dishonest to recognize the faults of a candidate and still vote or campaign for them, it just shows their desire to prevent a worse candidate on the other side from gaining power. If anything, I think it's important for everyone to recognize the downsides of all candidates present to make an informed decision. If you only see your preferred candidate as all good and the other(s) as all evil, then there is something wrong with you and you're not thinking realistically. People are never completely perfect or imperfect, and pretending that they are is beyond childish.

So that means that people who refer to Obama as "Ineffective" and Hillary as a "Sleaze" are in the clear.

Thank you
