There is obviously no death toll high enough.

Actually, you are wrong.

But then the same argument can be made for many preventable deaths.

I just find it hypocritical of those that claim there is no comparison.

Plenty of products on the market are recalled if they end up resulting in a significant number of deaths.
What the left wants for guns isn't even that drastic.

"The left" wants total control over everyone, nothing less. Perhaps not every one of you (useful idiots such as yourself excepted), but that's what drives the propaganda efforts

Interesting btw, that the same fools who take a knee protesting the police and the flag and the country and who claim that cops hunt children, want the population disarmed against the police

I didnt claim a comparison so shove it up your arse
What is the number Jlf? is it written somewhere or is it an unknown
You wanna ignore it until it suits you?
Trying to Prevent death is part of life, except....for gun maniacs. And Im not calling all gun owners maniacs either.
Reducing risks is a good idea, but not apparently when it comes to a violent death by gun and its holder

I think what the Left wants is a society in which people can gather for things like gigs and other utterly harmless activities without having the shit blasted out of them by someone who, half an hour before he did it, would have been called a fine upright citizen whose gun-toting rights should be defended vigorously by us all, Bosco.

So I want total control over everyone because I suggested the US be more like Canada?
Canada has a better democracy than the US, btw.

You have a real knack for saying impossibly stupid things, Bosco... you've actually transcended your own RWNJness and become a living parody of an RWNJ.

That perp had anything but a 'fine upstanding' profile beforehand. He'd been flagged up on many occasions as a possible Islamist threat. The clear answer to prevention of something similar was better scrutiny of him beforehand, rather than festooning such gigs in future with armed guards.

LMAO Google boy. "Country ranker" where the more lefty you are the higher you rank. What did you google to find this crap?

JVoV -> RE: The original arguments FOR the second amendment (10/9/2017 2:28:30 PM)

I've never been denied on a background check, but I don't believe the exact reason of denial is available to gun dealers.

At least it very well shouldn't be, if it's medical (including mental health) or related to anything other than a conviction, which is public record anyway.

In my mind at least, this should work like a credit check if denied. You get a letter in the mail explaining why you've been denied, with a list of steps to take if any information they have is wrong or outdated, or what you can do to have your rights restored.

You want to prevent some of the crap that has happened in the US, then get the shit for brains anti gun lobby to first admit that there is a simple and easily fixed explanation as to why the present system is not working.

There is already at least one documented case, Virginia tech, where the shooter would not have been able to buy the two guns he used to kill 32 people IF the fucking back ground check had that information that his therapist, the institution that kept him on a 72 hour observation had to send that information to the National Crime Information System database!

When Virginia passed a law making that mandatory, the ACLU immediately filed suit on grounds of invasion of privacy and violation of doctor patient privilege. Thank god it was ruled that the right to safety by the general public trumps the right to privacy.

That has not stopped Dems and lobbyists from fighting bills that would make it a federal law.

So, basically what I am saying is FIX THE LAWS WE HAVE NOW BEFORE ADDING A SHIT TON MORE THAT EITHER LEADS TO AN OUTRIGHT BAN OR SEVERELY IMPACTS THE RIGHTS OF GUN OWNERS!

Is that so fucking hard to understand.

Evidently it is, because you, and the other anti gun members of this board have yet to address the problem, and instead want more laws, that if the original problem is not fixed, there is no way stricter background checks, multiple purchases being flagged or anything else is going to work, short of an out right ban on private ownership.

Which, by my understanding, none of you want the problem fixed, you want the guns banned and all gun owners treated like potential criminals for owning guns.

It's time we stop thinking that guns are a solution....

NOT ALL guns are a solution.

Guns...are a solution...but........repeaters....not.

It is time we stop thinking that guns are the problem.
Evil people are.

And...guns that exceed our need to protect ourselves.

There aren't any guns that exceed our need to protect ourselves.

I suspect the folks in Las Vegas would share a rather different opinion.
