Well, I do take my cell phone with me, and I would have politely excused myself, taking the call and let you know that I was busy, and that I would talk to you later.  Unless it was an emergency.

It is also possible that she has her cell phone on silent or vibrate only.

Besides, the reason I carry a cell, is for safety reasons and so that I can be reached in an emergency, having it off, would fulfill neither of those functions.

That would be a good reason to have the cell phone on. . .

i think on this  tho- i would explain early in the date that hey if my phone rings ...blah blah blah. rather then surpriseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
you dont have my full attention.

it is a 1st date. in her case.

further i would stick to my promise. no one likes to be strung along. so short of the emergency- ild conveniently loose my tower.[if need be].............................. [some callers gab for hours if you let them..]

there are one or two reasons why a person would take a cell, for me if my kids were still young, and i was in the dating scene i diffently would have my phone, in cases of emergency. or two like when i was a substance abuse counselor, one weekend a month i was on called so i had to have my cell phone.
take care and be safe
