Well, Trump is now calling for NBC's license to be revoked.

oh, and if trump actually DOES something rather than just bluster and impulsively shoot off at the mouth, then it might be worth talking about. unless you wanna go off in the direction guy benson did (oh no comrades, townhall!)

otherwise, really, its just more...

Trump lies 99% of the time. It may even be bordering on 100% nowadays. Do you fall to your knees and worship and enable that and if so why?

Are you a good person?

The history books will remember you as one of the woebegone idiots and his growing monstrosity base.

Anybody else remember when Trump started verbally attacking the media and was accused of heading toward sanctioning the media and free speech and the Trumpites here said; "it's only talk, he's just defending himself, the first amendment is safe".

Well, Trump is now calling for NBC's license to be revoked. That didn't take long.

Wasnt NBC the news portal that absolutely refused to publish news about harvey weinstein sexual assaults to protect him.

That their own journalist has to go to New York Times and get NYT to publish it instead?

Base on that, NBC better not cry about "freedom of speech".

Freedom of speech includes the freedom of not speaking. Freedom of the Press is the freedom for the editors or owners to dictate what will be published, when, and how. Sadly, that can seriously undermine investigative reporting by actual journalists, and likely has done just that for a decade or so, just in the Weinstein scandal.

You are not exactly stupid so, for me, perhaps you could elaborate on the first amendment and your definition.

Does it include the right to lie and embody liars?
Yes or No?

I thought NBC was leftist fallacies to you and now you dare cite it like one of your 10 commandments.

What does any of that have to do with free speech?

Are you suggesting that the investigative reporter's free speech was restricted because their employer didn't want to publish their work?

Go learn a little bit more about what Free Speech actually is before you go spouting crap like this off.

God your ignorance is exhausting.

A news reporting portal who refuse to report a big crime.

Yes, to me, they lost all credibility as a media house to me. And don't deserve "freedom of speech", they should be regulated on content. As they have clearly displayed that they are unable to be proper journalists. Revoking their license to report news seem to be fair. They should just stick to entertainment.

They don't deserve freedom of speech? You seem to think that is something that is earned. It's not. It's a right, not a privilege. No one gets to say whether or not they deserve it.

Freedom of the press means they get to say these things, or not. You may not understand it, you may not like it, but that's what our laws say so that's how it is. Freedom of the press is Central to our government and people have lost their lives protecting that.

People who think like you do are exactly what our constitution protects us from.

All that said, the story not being run still isn't a free speech issue. It's a bad decision, and I agree that it calls their credibility into question, but that's separate from free speech.

Again, you clearly have no understanding of our laws and our constitution. Just because it may seem logical to you, doesn't mean that it's right. Things are determined according to our constitution, which you have no clear understanding of. Much of what you say is in direct conflict with it. It may work in your country, but your country is vastly different from ours.
