ORIGINAL: JVoV I'm OK with that. Nobody else is responsible for paying the debts of the estate. The real problem is that it needs to be a class action lawsuit, so that the victims and families of those murdered all get something. Personally, if it were me, I'd probably do that with the money, anyway. Paddock wasn't worth nearly what all of this is going to cost, but it would be something. I was sitting here this morning thinking about the idea of suing the hotel. It's going to sound air-headed, so be patient with me. Exactly what did people expect the hotel to do? I've heard stuff about how the staff was supposed to notice a guy with suitcases and what have you, as if people with luggage would be an unusual occurrence. There's also been the suggestion that the hotel should have had metal detectors to prevent firearms from getting in. It makes me wonder just exactly how other people pack. Even if I were going to skip the whole idea about what in my kink bag has metal, (and trust me, if I were going to Vegas, at least some of the toy collection would come with me) I thought about all of my regular stuff would set a metal detector off. Curling irons, electric razors, metal hair barrettes, and who knows how many other things. This huge hotel is supposed to search every person's bag that would be setting off a metal detector? Are we going to x-ray everything like we do at airports, 'cause we all know how much people enjoy that. [8D] Yeah, I'm not sure the hotel could be found at fault either, but it's likely the best hope of financial restitution for all the victims, and the one most likely to settle the cases, instead of going to court.
