Status: online 		is First of all, this is a story from September, so I apologize if there is another thread on it.

This is a PRIME example of the stereotypical elitist liberal, behaving badly.

The note from the librarian is sooooo damn condescending, it is disgusting.

"You may not be aware of this, but Dr. Seuss is a bit of a cliché, a tired and worn ambassador for children's literature," Soeiro wrote to Trump. "As first lady of the United States, you have an incredible platform with world-class resources at your fingertips. Just down the street you have access to a phenomenal children's librarian: Dr. Carla Hayden, the current Librarian of Congress. I have no doubt Dr. Hayden would have given you some stellar recommendations."

Besides the fact that Dr. Seuss is FULL of brilliant metaphors for complex issues for children to ponder, it is NOT (IMO) a cliche. It certainly is NOT tired or worn in any way.

Even if she really felt that way, she didn't have the decency, or the grace to accept the gift. The real message is "I'm a Democrat. I don't like Trump. So, we won't take books from his wife."

I am not complaining about stereotypes. Rather, I am pointing out, that this behavior reinforces the stereotype.

I am not complaining about stereotypes. Rather, I am pointing out, that this behavior reinforces the stereotype.

At least it makes a change from whining about hypocrisy, I suppose.

I don't see any new information here. Or even as much as the first thread had.

Apparently, there is a theory circulating that Dr Seuss was racist, because of some of his work before he made it big. I don't see it in his children's books, neither did Michelle Obama when she sent books to schools, as Melania is doing now. It's a FLOTUS tradition, I believe started by Laura Bush.

OK, so one petty, selfish librarian hates that Trump is in office enough to refuse books for the kids in her school/district/whatever. Yeah, that's pathetic. And again, petty as fuck.

But that's not all liberals. Just like I'm sure not all conservatives want to hang gays, even if Mike Pence does.
