I just want to say. This is what Trump wants. Countries that benefit America! If he can convince more countries doing this for the US, they can possibly get their debt lowered faster! And I keep saying that many Asians will pay the Premium required for Made In the USA products. I feel previous Presidents were not cashing on manufacturing to sell to Asia. Just look at how good US products are doing in my country.

In a vivid example of Singapore's sizeable investments in the United States despite being a small country of 5.5 million people, national carrier Singapore Airlines (SIA) will buy 39 new aircraft from Boeing in a US$13.8 billion (S$18.7 billion) deal that will create 70,000 jobs in America.

Mr Lee, on his part, noted that the deal was a “win-win for both sides”, and said: “It will further modernise SIA’s fleet, and support many American jobs.”

In his remarks from the White House, the Prime Minister noted that the Republic is the second largest Asian investor in the US, with over US$70 billion in stock investments.

Total trade in goods and services between both countries amounted to more than US$68 billion last year, with the US consistently running a trade surplus with Singapore. This surplus in favour of the US stood at over US$18 billion in 2016.

Noting that America exports over US$43 billion of goods and services annually to the Republic, Mr Lee said: “On a per capita basis, every Singaporean is buying US$7,500 worth of American goods and services yearly – from iPhones and pharmaceutical products, to tyres and golf clubs, to financial and consultancy."

At the same time, the US is the top source of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Singapore, with investment stock worth US$259 billion in 2016. Among Asian countries, Singapore is also the largest Asian recipient of FDI from the US.

The Republic is one of the US’ closest partners in Asia, and there are frequent exchanges at the highest levels. This is Mr Lee's second visit to the US in just over a year.

And in Wisconsin. Foxconn. 10,000 to 13,000 new good paying manufacturing jobs, with another estimated 15,000 local jobs to support Foxconn.

The DOW is up less than 1% today.

3M AND Caterpillar again, only 2 of 30 stocks in the DOW are up and drive the index up. Whirlpool and Lockheed are down. at times it takes only Walmart and McDonalds to make the DOW index up while the other 28 are either down or unchanged.

The stock market reflects only what is mode or lost on paper (don't be the last buyer) and does nothing for the overall economy.

It’s a good job 50% of Americans don’t own stock then. And the majority of the other 50% do not benefit an iota from the DOW high: save the wealthy upper classes and gentry. I think that is why Trump cheers it so.
I imagine most Americans know all this and have taking the slavering bampot to task regarding this on his twitter feed.
And that is before we get embroiled in what paper money means- something MrRodgers hinted at.

If all 15,000 jobs materialize out of this that will nice but it will cost them and taxpayers $200,000 PER job. That's because any state including Wisconsin, taxpayers are extorted to the tune this time of some $3 billion in incentives to Foxconn for these jobs.

I wonder, can the American state, local and even federal govt. taxpayers afford this type of job extortion ? I say not much longer.

You will keep us up to date on the creation of those 70,000 (new jobs you imply) from this deal. I highly doubt anywhere near that number will be net new jobs from this deal.

especially since I'm sure many worker protections are going out the window in favor of the gop model of "getting government out of the way of business".

So how much GDP is this creating for china since the USA doesn't get any of it?

subleopold -> RE: Wow, we are creating 70k jobs for the USA? (10/24/2017 12:42:17 PM)

MrRodgers I am led to believe he has created 100 billion Jobs for America, and that after riding on the coat-tails of Handsome Obama, he plans to cut unemployment to negative 2500%. I am sure he has that 100 billion banked from Saudi Arabia. Actually wasn’t that an Obama deal?

Hark! I feel the rank sulphurous breath of evildog44 panting in my handsome direction. Perhaps I am omnipotent, perhaps I am simply a fan, or perhaps I am typing from the criminally insane asylum. But I do know two things; you are a half wit and you are obsessed by two souls on here. Worked out well for you and your ilk I see.

Did you like my explanation of the reality “DOW IQ44 or does actual facts and accurate information scare you?” MrRodgers understands it.

I will reiterate. Only the exceptionally wealthy benefit.
America and the United Kingdom both need “immigrants.” Why do you think Germany took in millions?
Both the USA and the UK have slammed the door shut at the behest of fake news.

Government according to the GOP, is supposed provide them and their constituency (bankers, the fortune 500 etc.) with money and power. Govt. to the GOP...exists for a profit and all that entails.
