Google “Republicans running for president in 2020.” The game is already on.
If they have a clue, they will limit the slate to 2-3 serious candidates.
The only reason Mr Trump won last time is that there were a dozen or more 'establishment candidates' and him. He took the rabid 'anti establishment' vote and that allowed him his small plurality in the primaries.
Had he not been running against an utter sleazebag in the general, he would have lost handily.
A decent primary challenge will sink him. This could be why he is attacking Corker and Flake so heartily.
