Sen. Rob Portman, R- Ohio said something that made damn good sense. quote:
But Portman also said Trump has been "too defensive" in his reaction to the Russia investigation while saying that lawmakers should keep pushing to uncover the facts of the case. "He won the election fair and square, he's duly elected and we ought to instead focus on the outrage that the Russians meddled in our election." source President Trump this week has been ranting and raving about the Clinton email server issue, the Uranium mining deal with the Russians under Obama, and of course screaming that everything to do with the Russia election investigation is 'fake news.' However, while initially claiming it was the mishandling of the Clinton email investigation by Comey as the reason for the firing of the former FBI head, he later admitted that it was the 'Russian thing' as the real reason he fired the FBI director. Strangely enough, a few months after Mueller was picked as special prosecutor, the president was floating ideas on how to fire him. And there in lies the rub. If there was no collusion between his campaign staff with the Russians (with or without his knowledge) but the evidence clearly indicated that they did try to influence the election, you would think that he would want to get to the bottom of it, put it behind him and get on with his agenda. However, the more he rants and raves, the more he looks like he does actually have something to hide. It reminds me of Nixon on national television saying "I am not a crook." Hell, half of President Trump's actions could be taken out of the Watergate cover up play book. Yes, agreeably, there is a lot of shit that took place during Hilary's tenure as secretary of state, and by extension, the Obama administration that needs investigating, and very probably charges filed. And honestly, Trump should be cleaning house of everyone that has some questionable connections, or had some questionable meetings with Russian government reps or business interests that had every reason to want Trump elected. But right now, Trump looks less like a president and more like a 5 year old caught doing something wrong and pointing his finger yelling, "Why me? They did...."
