When I buy shit at Walmart, they show a profit.
When they show a profit, more people want to buy their stock.

When I don't buy shit at Walmart, they don't make as much money.
When they don't make as much money, people don't want to buy their stock.

Professor Satyr now dismisses you from: "Free Markets 101"

Well, crap, the whole nation depends on your own purchases of Depends at the local Walmart, then.

The aggregate demand of a nation of 320 million is boiled down to the individual demand of one DaddySatyr.

Mind-blowing.

BTW, there is no business course in the world called "Free Markets 101."

Not that anyone is expecting a donkey to know that.

Presumably the free market is also magically arranged to make sure there's always at least two different supermarket chains with an outlet in every town in order to provide the choice to not give money to one of them.

I am going to start making it again. I can't find a decent pizza in this town. There was Nunzios that has only three locations. Lately they have gotten too greasy, and if I say that, it is GREASY

I love my pizzas so much! But fortunately over here, we have quite a few proper wood fire brick oven pizzas. Ironically, they cost the same as Pizza hut. They are all not cheap. That's my only obstacle of having it as often as I like.

Domino's is the only big pizza chain where, at least over here, they put their kitchen infront in all their stores, not hidden away like most other pizza chains, aside from wood-fire oven pizzas where the pizza station is also open on it's own where you can watch them making dough.

I have watched Domino's made dough from scratch, and then turn it into my pizza that I ordered. Everything infront of your eyes. I think they got nothing to hide that it's all made fresh, so that's their marketing strategy here. I wonder if it's the same in the US.

But unfortunately, I just hate their tomato sauce for me to appreciate it. But I do appreciate the freshness.

greta, people who say nonsense like "their pizza is shit" shouldn't be taken seriously.

papa john's is a national and international chain that has experienced a reputable amount of success. you don't get that by selling "shit."

all national franchise pizzas share similar characteristics with relatively minor differences in recipe.

so whats the more likely, either millions of people over and over are buying "shit" or the people who declare it so are really full of it?

Sometimes there are alot successes that I cannot understand when the quality of the food isn't good. In my country, we have a Canadian Pizza chain. It's literally just called "Canadian Pizza", and I often think everything is horrible about it. I think it's their bullshit marketing strategy that all their pizzas is 2 for the price of 1 that is helping their sales. But if people actually do the math, it's not precisely cheaper either. But oh well. It works.

But real curious about Papa John now. Will taste Malaysia one and come back and feedback. Probably be in KL, Dec or Jan. Not sure yet.

I kinda get Danemora critique about "cardboard and tasteless" pizzas. Because I have tasted pizza crust where it's not sufficiently salted and cardboard is not even an exaggeration.

Plus I am a legit "food snob". I live to eat and enjoy food! Not eat to live type hehe! I will analyse everything about everything I am eating. And critique it. When ya meet a fellow foodie, like my American BFF, he loves discussing the meals we have together and dissecting the flavours.

If Papa John dough was made on site at the restaurant. It is actually totally possible the staff making it forgot to add salt that one day, maybe missed some SOP steps. I have also ate freshly baked foccacia bread before that the chef forgot to add salt and it was nasty.

Notably, movies are also having a bad sales summer. Maybe people just don't want to hang out in big crowds this summer. Hmmm . . .?

Thanks to Obama's rolling out the red carpet to young bearded military-aged Muslim "refugees"?

Oh stop.

Just because everyone leaves the restaurant or theater when you walk in is no reason to blame others.

Obama didn't ban you, obviously, even anti-American as you blatantly are..

They had to see this coming.

Now Daily Stormer has declared Papa John's as the official pizza of the alt-right, complete with pepperoni swastika images.
http://www.newsweek.com/papa-john-alt-right-nazis-white-supremacists-nfl-pizza-701648

From which;

"Last November, the neo-Nazis said New Balance shoes were the “official shoes of white people” because one of the company’s top executives criticized former President Barack Obama and said that he supported Trump."

"Papa John's CEO Schnatter has earned praise from the right wing for criticizing Obamacare in 2012 and also donating around $1,000 to the Trump campaign."

But then this;

"The brands, however, have been quick to disassociate themselves from white supremacists. New Balance released a statement saying it is a “values-driven” organization that believes in “humanity, integrity, community and mutual respect for people around the world.”

"In an email to the Huffington Post, Papa John’s also said it condemns racism in all forms."

So, we are expected to take at their word the executives and CEOs who support the most racist and anti-American president when they speak out of their anti-Amarican ass.

Not calling you out, please understand, just expounding on your link (which explains a lot, so thanks for that).

Weren't you the one claiming to like Brussels sprouts?

That's commie food, isn't it?

Damn, I was commie all this time and didn't know it.

-Your hand in mine, mine in yours, as we sing The Internationale.-

I put too much vinegar on it sometimes (like my posts, sometimes) but it's that vinegar made from organic free-range grass-fed raw unfiltered unpasteurized biodynamic just-reached-puberty etc. apples.

legitimate/illegitimate criticisms of food aside for a moment, when people are truly grateful for their food, it always tastes better.

PeonForHer -> RE: Papa John's Loses Dough (11/6/2017 5:11:21 PM)

FR

I had a Papa John's pizza, once. It was possibly the most fatty, artery-clogging slab of unadulterated sizzling gunk I've ever eaten in my life. Just hot, flavoured, lard. Fine if you've not eaten for three days and don't expect to eat again for three days after - but not if you want to reach your thirties without a lethal cardiac incident. How Papa John and NFL could ever be associated in anyone's mind is beyond me.

Generally most pizza are fatty because of the cheesiness isn't it? I mean I love those 7 cheese pizzas and I am in no illusion I am just consuming lard. It's super yummy! On top of that, in our local food over here, we dump alot of crispy pork lard into all our food. It's yummy!

And what is missing in Singapore is deep dish pizza! I had one in the US before and I was dying of happiness! I think I just like loads of melted cheese.

Boiled Brussels sprouts eaten with melted butter is like for me, one of the most amazing thing I ever eaten. Of course even tossed with chinese oyster sauce and garlic is great too! There are 4 top best tasting veges for me. Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, Baby Kailan and Spinach. I seriously love them like I love french fries.

FR - and I fucking told ya so...

https://www.si.com/nfl/2017/11/08/jerry-jones-cowboys-lawsuit-nfl-owners-roger-goodell-contract

Jerry Jones Hires Former Weinstein Lawyer, Threatens to Sue NFL
The Cowboys owner has upped the stakes in his growing feud with Roger Goodell, and claims he will sue the league if the commissioner's contract is extended.

- that quote came from a story on Vice, but I lost the link... Damn phone.

Told us, what? That Jerry Jones told the league three weeks ago he was losing money and didn't like it? Let's see ... a business man doesn't like losing money. Print it! Stop the presses! We have a new "angle"!

Jerry threatening to sue the league doesn't surprise me one bit. Bringing legal/financial pressure to bear is a time-honored course of action.

I don't know if it will help their cause with me, though. People/entities having to be forced into doing the right thing are just impotent and sad. I'm a fan of neither.

Maybe I'm secretly a Cryboys fan ...

Even you can't be this dumb, ronnie.

The market IS deciding. Viewership and sales are down and one of the owners don't like it.

Surely, you can grasp that the markets are deciding and now, one of the partners in the NFL is trying to make their product (what they believe to be) better?

It ain't rocket science, ronnie.

That's the media making a decision, not the market.
