Dude, if I'm driving in any state while wearing a nightgown, I'd better have a fever of 106 and headed for an ER. Unless I'm completely out of my head, I'll put pants on.

Do you have any other crap that you have to reach so far up your own tail to rant about on this thread?

As compared to what? Your obnoxious insistence that 'crime du jour' is the end all and be all? The final arbiter regarding societal mores? Oh Jeebus.

The lady on the left in this video is a criminal, by your estimation.

Mary Ann

She got arrested for buying marijuanna when she was 50-something. Oh PLEASE.

Like everybody was 'ranting up their tail' when they warned about all the increase in terrorism and immigrants if the US invaded the ME?

You're just not getting it, you just aren't.

I don't think the dad's chickenshit minor 'criminality' is of much consequence to society, here. his absence from faterhood, as DEMANDED BY SOCOIETY might or might not be another matter.

I don't know about that one. Maybe you should ask the people he was stealing from if it mattered. While you're trying to lecture me on reading history, it might do a little good for you to read up on the additional costs that get passed on to all of us due to theft because shoplifting isn't a big deal.

quote:

Do you ever walk down 'poor streets'? I hope you don't, and I'm not there anymore for decades myself. But I learned something in any case.

I used to be a single mother of two, so I can promise you I've lived in the poor part of town. I give you my word that I know what it's like to be broke as a joke.

quote:

What? A thief with out permission from the SEC? I think that's obvious.

The guy could have made at least a $20 mil bonus stealing home equity and foreclosing houses of retirees, and been well rewarded.

But that doesn't bother you, it seems.

Unlike you, I'm not grading on the curve. I'm not looking to see if other people's infractions are worse to excuse this guy for going out and stealing from other people to keep landing himself in jail when he KNEW his son needed him. It wasn't like the son's condition was a big secret or the guy didn't have a clue that he might have to step up to the plate and be an organ donor.

quote:

Obviously, the guy should have known himself that petty theft is anti-family, whereas predatory lending and grand theft of national wealth is, seemingly, 'pro family' by Republicans. Nothing 'criminal' about THAT, right?

I'm rather convinced that most people know that if they break the law, and go to jail, yes, one of the things that does is separate the person from their family. Are you suggesting that we're talking about an individual who didn't know that? Funny, because I would have thought that his first trip to jail would have taught him.

quote:

So yeah, if that makes you feel better.

Well, if you're going to ask me what would have made me feel better, I'll be happy to tell ya.

I'd have been happier if the guy would have straightened his act out so the hospital wouldn't have had to wonder if he was going to be able to do his part as a living donor. His track record isn't exactly great, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that the hospital had concerns about post procedure regimen.

Had the guy been able to be a living donor, the kidney AJ received could have gone to another child who didn't have the option of a match of a relative. I'd have rather two children not have to be on dialysis. I'd have rather had the better odds for AJ with the 100% match, which would decrease the possibility of rejection of the transplanted organ.

I know it sounds strange but I'm thinking that might have been kind of cool.

I understand your point about the father knowing beforehand what the situation was, and so should have constrained himself for at least that long.

My two homeless neighbors are homeless primarily because they have incurable "impulse control issues," so I am familiar with the problem.

But the inescapable fact is that the STATE prevented the procedure from taking place as it should have. It is by arbitrary rules that had the father's actions preventing what should have happened. He could have been awarded a million dollars or he could have been street executed, but either way, the STATE decides that, not the father. So let's just stop with that nonsense

BTW, sorry you missed it, but the doctors said they wouldn't allow donation from the father because the prison medical system sucked so bad (which the doctors were fully aware of) that they felt certain that the father would have died afterwards. Whereas it's not much of a deal in the outer world for a donor. So there's that.

Sorry, Gretta, but we have enough of you already, we don't need more regressionism from immigrants like you. I know you're not asking, and thank you for that. I don't think it's half bad living in a country which outlaws chewing gum on subways in the first place.

I would never want to live in America! Infact one potential bdsm life long relationship obstacle for me is that he wants me in America and I don't want to live there. I don't like the cold. I don't like snow. I love sunshines everyday 365 days a year and I don't like seasons. I also don't like driving. And I have the impression that in the US, you gotta drive everywhere, because it's so big. Unlike my own country, it takes 4 hours for me to walk the length of the country. You know when Singaporeans come back from the US as tourist, they don't usually have good things to say. Like they are shock how dirty it is. Pee and human poop on the streets and stuffs. My friend who studied in California, went to music school, right in hollywood, for 4 years told me, some homeless people has no choice but to just poop on the floor there. And it's like, we don't expect to see this type of shit in a more modern country. That things are so bad for the homeless.

My own country is perfect for me. And as a kid, I grew up when chewing gum was still legal. It got banned when I was 12. As a 12 yr old, that upset me as I love to chew gum and blow bubbles. But as an adult, I appreciate the ban so much. No chewing gum left on public transport seats for example. Just makes the whole country cleaner! (PS, chewing gum is outlawed in the entire country, not just the subway)

I think America sold themselves very well on TV to be this beautiful pristine country to the world, makes people from the third world think it's the holy grail to stay in. But in reality. It's not like that.

quote:

But anyway . . .
Did you notice how Trump said he was going to reduce the number of illegals, then turns around and changes the law to where we now have more illegals?

Precisely what policies did he introduce to create more illegals?
The only issue I have with US immigration is, that they gave asylum to a spoiled rich kid running away from national service in Singapore. And now that spoil rich kid got banned from facebook and twitter and initially suppose to talk at harvard but harvard cancelled him, because he is promoting pedophilia and child porn. His a stupid kid and yet US gave him asylum. I am sure there more genuine poverty ridden asylum seekers they could have helped instead. His pro-bono US lawyer painted a false picture that he was being persecuted, when really, every boy who reach 18 in Singapore gotta serve National Service. It's like Israel, every citizen gotta serve.

Talk about choosing quality immigrants. Trump needs to sort out their immigration department as even choosing who to give legal immigration to, they are fucking up!

And all this dude did was enter US on a tourist visa and then apply for asylum. And he believes US is the glorious land of free speech, so he can be as outrageous as he wants, like campaigning for children to be allowed to do child porn legally. And making it legal for adults to have sex with children.

I am surprise it's illegal to drive in night gown. As a kid, there were many times I miss my school bus. And my mom got to rush out of bed and drive me to school. And she doesn't bother to change. Just in her nightgown, drop me off, go back home and continue sleeping. Because this is like 5am in the morning.

Edwird -> RE: This Is A Tragedy (11/25/2017 5:35:06 AM)

The point was that we (in any country) can label someone as a "criminal" for almost any reason.

Argue whatever else you wan't about the detriments of the person under scrutiny, but the "he's/she's a criminal" thing is useless. Name the crime, don't just say "criminal" and then be lazy about the rest of it.
