Where does the Hypocrite Party stand on this one

[image]http://images.tritondigitalcms.com/6616/sites/320/2017/11/15155723/leeann-airplane-pic.jpg[/image]

Didn't matter with rapist Bill Clinton

Nothing matters more with Trump and Moore

Now? No big deal?

MasterDrakk -> RE: Al Franken Sexual Assault Claimed (11/16/2017 7:46:48 AM)

He isn't a pedophile, he should get what good old grab 'em by the pussy got, at the very least.

Lucylastic -> RE: Al Franken Sexual Assault Claimed (11/16/2017 8:00:40 AM)

Amazing how many sexist pigs, wont discuss their own molesters.
Let Franken answer it, has he denied it, like moore?
I wonder if he will run again.

Hmmmm. So we have this Leanne Tweeden, who works for a right wing radio show and who has spent much of her working life working for FOX, who after 11 years decides it is time to point her finger at a Democrat. Her proof? A photo in which she claims to be being "fondled" by Al Franken. However, if you really look at what is in the picture, he is barely, if at all, actually touching her. Hardly a "fondle", and very apparently a picture posed as a gag, even though it may not be in the best taste. The rest is a story (emphasis on "story") about a backstage incident for which she has no corroboration. The timing and claim here seems very suspect, to me.

Well we have a party of dirty tricks sending out robocalls pretending to be wa po looking for dirt on moore, a plant wouldnt surprise me, however, if he actually DID grope her, instead of pose it*it looked posed, not caught mid grab* then he is guilty of molestation.
And given that the house is looking into sexual harassment more deeply, more will come out, true or otherwise.
One thing for sure, there are lots of women pissed off at their molesters. No matter the party./

DaddySatyr -> RE: Al Franken Sexual Assault Claimed (11/16/2017 9:07:50 AM)

Well, Franken is/was a member of two "suspect" groups.

He was a (mildly funny) comedian on SNL and now, he's a politician.

If recent events is any indicator, I'd say there's a good chance he's a creep.

I would add: In this case, there seems to be some evidence.

It will be interesting to see if any other ladies come out with Al Franken stories.

Lucylastic -> RE: Al Franken Sexual Assault Claimed (11/16/2017 10:39:56 AM)

what is your opinion on trumps accusers?

Lucylastic -> RE: Al Franken Sexual Assault Claimed (11/16/2017 10:45:11 AM)

Frankens Response to the allegations.

[image]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DOxXwUJW0AAhcD6.jpg[/image]

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell called for an ethics committee to investigate the allegations against Franken. In his statement, Franken said he would cooperate with such a probe:

“I am asking that an ethics investigation be undertaken, and I will gladly cooperate.”

servantforuse -> RE: Al Franken Sexual Assault Claimed (11/16/2017 11:42:55 AM)

Any photos ?

Wayward5oul -> RE: Al Franken Sexual Assault Claimed (11/16/2017 12:35:39 PM)

There is a photo. Supposed to be shot as a joke, "posed", but if I were the woman in the photo I would be pissed as hell.

He has admitted he shouldn't have done it. I'll give him that.

Um, why is there going to be an ethics probe on a Senator over something that happened 3 years prior to him becoming a Senator? I wonder how many Senators would have nothing to worry about regarding an ethics probe just over their time as Senators, and not including any time before that.

I agree, but there are those that could bastardize the same case FOR that despicable Moore. Look, I believe Moore pursued "relationships" with teen-agers, but looking objectively: There's been no finding of fact, these incidents happened long before he was a senator (he isn't even one, now) and yet, the senate is squawking about refusing to seat him, if elected.

I'm betting there's some clause in the rules that covers the time before a senator is elected.

If there's not, this almost guarantees that Franken is in for a bumpier ride than he deserves. I DESPISE his politics, but he has come forward and owned up to an action that might not be a crime (It's tough to tell if he's touching the young lady's breasts from that photo). if the argument is (and this isn't his argument, from what I've seen): "It was before I was a senator" and it stands, Moore might skate, similarly, if there's no finding of fact in his case.

Peace,

Michael

Same reason they are making a big deal about something that may or may not have happened nearly 40 years ago.

Unless the Ethics Probe is solely investigating his time as a Senator, to determine if he's engaged or not engaged in unethical behavior while seated as a Senator. I still wonder how many sitting Senators would be squirming if there was an Ethics Probe into their times as Senators. I'm willing to bet the vast majority would not be very confident that they'd come out squeaky clean.

Oh, and I don't agree with Senator Franken's politics (and I didn't find him all that funny before his political career, either). But, imo, that doesn't matter.

No, it doesn't. I don't like anything about him and wouldn't vote for him.
But that has nothing to do with whether I think they should investigate him.
This has the same relationship to him being a senator as the unproven allegations
against Moore has for him.

Except with Moore, the voters will actually get to decide whether or not they want someone like him in office.

Has Franken stepped down and left the political arena? If not, then voters will get to make that same decision (just different voters; lol).

True. I was just comparing the Senate investigating Franken versus voters deciding whether or not Moore gets in office.

I would be stunned if the Ethics Committee forced Franken out over something that happened prior to him being a Senator. Absolutely stunned, unless they uncover continued actions during his Senate service. I would even be opposed to his being blackballed over the incident from 2006.
