jlf1961 -> From the "are you kidding me?" department (11/29/2017 3:37:57 PM)

We have all heard the President rant and blast 'fake news' based on anonymous sources and unverified facts.

He has criticized every news outlet except FOX news for this, and of course calling it fake news. Unless it is verifiable, it is fake news. If there is not name for the information, its fake news.

Unless President Trump does it.

This past weekend, our esteemed president retweeted videos of alleged Muslims committing acts of violence against Christians. These videos originated on a British Right wing anti Islam website, and have not been verified by anyone, not the website that originally posted them, nor can the source of the videos be found.

When asked about this, along with the previous presidential statements about fake news, Sarah Sanders said:

quote:

"Whether it is a real video, the threat is real. That is what the President is talking about, that is what the President is focused on is dealing with those real threats, and those are real no matter how you look at it."
When pressed on the difference between the videos being real or fake, Sanders replied, "I'm not talking about the nature of the video. I think you're focusing on the wrong thing. The threat is real, and that's what the President is talking about."
source

The key part of the statement is ""Whether it is a real video" which clearly indicates that the president and his staff are not required to hold themselves to the same standard as anyone that does not directly support them.

Now there is a word for this.

Hypocrisy.

It also is a direct tactic from the propaganda campaign of Josef Goebbels, one of the master minds behind the attack on a German radio station by the Polish military in 1939.

It didnt matter if the attack was real, it just had to look real in the minds of the average German citizen to justify plunging the world into a war.

We already know that radicalized Islamic groups are a threat, we dont need justification to respond.

What we dont need is a president that uses tactics he criticizes others for to get his message out.

Just watch, Bosco will see your post and say something along the lines of “well what about <insert a non-right wing source here>? They said something about fake news or propogated fake news that happens to conflict with my I’ll concieved notions of reality.” It’s all the right wing sheep can do these days to excuse the horrible behaviour of their own elected officials.

I am waiting for him to, since there is more than ample proof from the Dutch Police that the attacker was not Muslim, and has been arrested.

The video was posted in May of this year, and the Dutch police arrested the attacker, who was not a Muslim Immigrant, as Trump's tweet stated.

Lets face it, Trump is the perfect politician, double standards, and out right lying to the citizens of the US to further his agenda.

And he blasted Obama for the same shit.

Yes sir, its the same old political adage, its not alright for the other party to do it, but it is alright for us to do it.

If this country ever fielded politicians with some sense of ethics and moral values, it would be such a shock to the universe that everything would break down to the atomic level.

Not rethinking my retirement but for the young and able, time to rethink your future. I am afraid we may be in for 3 more years of this charade.

For the little guy, the one who has been left behind by the previous admins....by the Swamp.

More federal borrowing, raising interest rates, high mortgage costs. For every 1% increase in mortgage rates, 200,000 people no longer qualify for the same mortgage at the lower rate. Housing and auto recession coming.

Small business paying a federal tax 15% higher than that of the corporation. Windfall for lawyers to turn LLC's and 1099 IC's into a 20% corp. tax rates. (sub S doesn't work)

That's just off the top of my head. I am sure there is more but don't have enough recall right now.

The cuts in Medicaid could cost an estimated 200,000 lives. CHIP has run out with no plans to revise it.

Lifetime caps on insurance puts everybody with any chronic disease or defect on the path of henceforth...being un-insurable for the rest of their lives.

Increase in mortgage down payment costs and borrowing costs. (endorsed by a man who made a fortune off borrowed money)

So no, they...are not kidding you.

Nah, the fabric of our universe and atomic design, doesn't care that we are here or about us at all. That fabric of our existence will carry on and still, such as it is.

In the end, we'll all still be dust (or worm shit or soylant green) just like everything and everybody else.

Lucylastic -> RE: From the "are you kidding me?" department (11/29/2017 4:58:31 PM)

Its just like him claiming he saw thousands celebrating 9/11
he lies constantly, not only has he pissed off the UK< muslims, his base and breitbarts
Hes also "claimed" that Joe Scarboroughs "intern" dying is iffy(should be investigated)

So now that Matt Lauer is gone when will the Fake News practitioners at NBC be terminating the contract of Phil Griffin? And will they terminate low ratings Joe Scarborough based on the “unsolved mystery” that took place in Florida years ago? Investigate!

Wow, Matt Lauer was just fired from NBC for “inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace.” But when will the top executives at NBC & Comcast be fired for putting out so much Fake News. Check out Andy Lack’s past!

Breitbart posted this in response.
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/11/29/pollak-trumps-muslim-video-retweets-go-far/
On Wednesday, President Donald Trump re-tweeted three videos depicting Muslims carrying out various acts of violence, which were originally tweeted by Jayda Fransen, the deputy leader of the Britain First group in the UK.
Britain First is regarded by many as an extremist right-wing organization, and describes itself as “a patriotic political party and street movement” that is opposed to immigration and to Muslim immigration in particular.

CNN described Fransen as a “convicted racist,” which is somewhat confusing for an American audience, since the activities that Fransen was convicted for in Britain would likely be protected by the First Amendment in the U.S.

Still, even without knowing more about Fransen or Britain First, the president was wrong to retweet what she had posted. There is no way of knowing whether the videos are authentic, and — most important — when and where they were made.

The caption for the first tweet describes an “Islamist mob” allegedly pushing a teenager off the building. Franzen at least uses the term “Islamist,” which refers to a political ideology. However, her second tweet simply refers to a “Muslim” shown destroying a statue of the Virgin Mary, and her third tweet refers to a “Muslim migrant.” These references seem intended to conflate the misdeeds of one person with the behavior of a group as a whole.

That is not only provocative, but risky, as it encourages prejudice and hatred and could also provoke retaliation. At best, the tweets are sloppy. At worst, they are hate speech — not illegal, but not what an American leader should condone.

It is true that there is some support for radical Islam in the Muslim world, and among Muslim immigrants. But that is the view of a small minority, albeit a vocal and visible one that intimidates more moderate Muslim voices.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders defended President Trump’s tweets by arguing that “these are real threats that we have to talk about.”

That is certainly true, but there are more reputable sources to cite, and there are better ways to talk about it than to promote videos that blur the line between the innocent and the guilty.

Lucylastic -> RE: From the "are you kidding me?" department (11/29/2017 5:20:46 PM)

President Donald Trump on Wednesday shared a series of videos with his Twitter followers portraying Muslims as violent and dangerous, drawing condemnation from British Prime Minister Theresa May's office.

All three videos were originally posted to Twitter by Jayda Fransen, deputy leader of the far-right, ultranationalist group Britain First. She was found guilty last year of religiously aggravated harassment of a Muslim woman.

In one video, labeled by Fransen as “Muslim migrant beats up Dutch boy on crutches,” a young man beats up another young man, who is using crutches, punching him until he falls to the ground and then kicking him several times.

The Netherlands embassy in Washington tweeted Wednesday afternoon that the perpetrator in the video was not a migrant but was born and raised in the Netherlands. There is no obvious indication, aside from Fransen’s accompanying text, that the assailant is Muslim.

The second of Fransen’s videos retweeted by Trump — none of which could be independently verified — features a bearded man shattering a statue of the Virgin Mary. In the third, a group of men, including one carrying a black flag, attacks another group, beating them as they fall from a higher ledge.

“It is wrong for the president to have done this,” a spokesman for May said, saying Britain First uses "hate-filled narratives to peddle lies and stoke tensions."

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters that people concerned about the veracity or source of the videos were "focusing on the wrong thing."

"The threat is real. The threat needs to be addressed," Sanders said.

White House spokesman Raj Shah, speaking to reporters later on Wednesday, would not say how the videos came to Trump's attention. Asked if Trump believes Muslims are a threat to the United States, Shah said "the president has addressed these issues with the travel order" barring people from certain Muslim-majority countries.

Thomas Mair, who killed British MP Jo Cox last year, shouted “Britain First” as he shot and stabbed the Labour politician.

Cox’s widow, Brendan Cox, accused Trump on Wednesday of spreading hatred and trying to legitimize the far right in Britain. He said “the president should be ashamed of himself.”

"Trump has legitimised the far right in his own country, now he’s trying to do it in ours. Spreading hatred has consequences," Cox tweeted Wednesday.
Louisa Loveluck, a reporter previously based in Egypt, wrote on Twitter that the attackers in the third video, supporters of ousted Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, had been arrested. She shared a link to a report that said one of the men involved in the attack was executed in 2015.

British journalist Piers Morgan reacted to Trump's retweets with shock, writing on Twitter on Wednesday: "What the hell are you doing retweeting a bunch of unverified videos by Britain First, a bunch of disgustingly racist far-right extremists? Please STOP this madness & undo your retweets."

Fransen's religiously aggravated harassment charge came as a result of a "Christian patrol" in which she participated in early 2016, according to British media outlet The Independent. The far-right leader admitted to telling a hijab-wearing Muslim woman, who was with her four children at the time, that her faith forces women to wear non-revealing clothing because "because [Muslim men] cannot control their sexual urges" and "that's why they are coming into my country raping women across the continent."

Much of Trump’s political rhetoric, especially early in his presidential campaign, has been attacked as anti-Muslim. The president has sought a travel ban on individuals from certain majority-Muslim nations, an evolution of the complete ban on Muslims entering the U.S. that he proposed during the Republican primary. The travel ban, which has been the subject of multiple legal challenges, is necessary for national security purposes, Trump has said.

The president also publicly feuded during last year's presidential campaign with the Muslim family of a U.S. soldier killed in 2004 in Iraq, suggesting that the family's faith had kept the soldier's mother, Ghazala Khan, from addressing the 2016 Democratic National Convention along with his father, Khizr Khan.

tax cuts? for who?

Sorry but my bracket gets no cuts, under either the house or senate plans.

My mortgage interest deduction goes down on both proposed plans

So, tell me, who the fuck gets the tax cuts?

First Obama screwed us on health insurance, and Trump promised to fix that, now his tax breaks are gonna fuck me on some of my deductions.

And I am supposed to thank him?

And none of this have anything to do with leftest media, it has everything to do with the .gov website explaining the bills.

And you cant blame the liberals for the failure to repeal obamacare, the GOP controls the majority in both houses.

According to both versions of the tax bill, I can tell you who does get some hefty cuts, anyone with a middle six figure income and higher.

And I could not help but notice that Bosco did not address the simple fact that his glorious president flat out lied about the videos he retweeted claiming the acts were by Muslims.

So, he can accuse every one else of putting out fake news using unverified and anonymous sources and say its wrong, but if he does it, it is alright.

Something that's been rolling over in my head a lot, lately.

When I hear about Kim Jong Un launching another missile, I wonder: "Who else but someone like President Trump to deal with this guy?"

I mean, besides just continuing the decades of appeasement, of course.

Hey Greta, the video of a person attacking a man on crutches was the first tweet, and Trump made the claim it was a Muslim migrant.

Here is the problem, the Dutch police arrested the guy who did the beating
He was not Muslim
He was not a migrant
He was born Dutch, lived there all his life

Trump retweeted the video from a British right wing anti muslim website who's owner had already been arrested and charged with posting disinformation about Muslim terrorist attacks that DID NOT HAPPEN

Or, misrepresenting attacks as committed by Muslims.

The fucking point, you brainless moron, is that while, yes such attacks do happen, President Trump could not just stick to the truth, he had to go and find the most inflammatory crap he could find to further his agenda.

And did so with phrasing that paints all Muslims with the same brush.

Now, I am sure that this may be above your ability to comprehend, but it is the same basic tactic that the Germans used against the Polish, against Jews, Gypsies, Slavs, Russians, and any other ethnic or religious group that Hitler and the Nazis deemed unworthy.

And the KKK uses against African Americans and non whites.

And once more, he is doing the same fucking thing he blasts the media about, using anonymous sources, unverified reports and he calls it fake news.
