Status: offline 		Ok. As soon as Trump got in trouble the first time, others could laugh and say wtf. The second time, it would be time to look around and double check. By the time the FBI raid Maralago, every living President or VP should have made damn sure they didn't have any classified documents.

The House Intelligence Committee needs to figure it all out. As does DOJ.

Obama and Dubya need to check their couch cushions.

And it is illegal for him to possess them. Where are the FBI raids?

It would probably get more clicks to have the headline be "Local McDonald's linked to sudden rash of pig deaths" than if the headline just said "McRib is back".

One of the problens with the constant news cycle we live in is that even when there is no real news, something has to be reported. But ongoing investigations are ongoing.

First, Hillary's stolen documents weren't a prosecutable offense because reasons. Then, President Trump was "a threat to Democracy itself" and we had to bar him from politics and have him shot at dawn for treason because stolen documents. Now we've come full circle - "Nothing to see here, folks - move along."

A Boscox distortion of a Breitbart distortion of a CBS News story.

The link display from Boscox says "Biden Stolen Docs Included "Top Secret" Files"

The headline of the Breitbart article says "Biden’s Stash of Classified Documents Included Materials Marked Top Secret"

The original CBS article says "Approximately 10 documents found at Penn Biden Center include top secret material"

It is amusing to watch real fact-based journalism progress down the right-wing spin machine

Here is what we know:

1. There were classified documents at the Penn Biden center and other Biden controlled locations dating back to 2017
2. By definition, these documents were improperly handled and did not belong anywhere accept the National Archives
3. Being 6 years ago, there is no evidence Biden had any knowledge of them until they were discovered (although it is patently OBVIOUS that his lawyers waited
until AFTER the midterms to reveal them)
4. Unlike the previous President (whose attorneys lied to the National Archives and the FBI repeatedly and when that didn't work he claimed the documents belonged to HIM), the current President IMMEDIATELY turned the discovered documents over to the National Archives.

I support the special counsel in this matter.
And BTW: Hillary should be investigated and if criminality found prosecuted.
For that, and the use of her private email server and her Karl Rovian destruction of documents.

Status: offline 		I'm a registered Democrat, but I wanted Bernie. Again. Biden was just kinda there.

But I don't see how the process can be compared at all between Trump and Biden. The way the two have handled the findings has been totally different. The way the documents were discovered were totally different. There has been no subpoenas for any Biden docs. No court case. The National Archives didn't even know about Biden docs to go after them. Then again, Trump was notorious for destroying docs, even clogging toilets with them, and Trump bragged about certain docs while in office that weren't handed over, so the Natl Archives had reason to be on alert.

Status: offline 		The way arguments are made in Trump's defense are pure deflection. Worse than that, it's a defense even a child would get in trouble for. What one person does has nothing to do with what someone else does. If so and so was jumping off a cliff would you do that too?

Biden kept classified docs after he left office as VP. I dont see anyone here saying otherwise. There are investigations concerning those docs being done now. It will take time for official conclusions to be made as to any legal charges filed. And the House should also investigate. The House Intelligence Committee needs to know or determine how serious a threat to national security the mishandling of these documents are, if at all. And the intentions for having these documents needs to be evaluated. If these docs support a China narrative, then they will be harder to explain away.

None of that has anything to do with Trump.

My guess is that everything was packed up by staff, then sent either to Biden's house or his office. And probably has been sitting in those boxes all this time.

So I would question why the VP would have classified documents in his (and now her) office at the White House or residence at the Naval Observatory to start with?
