This also deserves its own thread... DeSantis indoctrination camps This Himmler style propaganda reminds me of the Nazi Jahr Null. If you look at the sample Powerpoint slides from the link above 1. MISCONCEPTION: The Founders desired strict separation of church and state and the Founders only wanted freedom of worship. This is White Christian Nationalist propaganda. Jefferson worked hard to disestablish the Anglican church from Virginia. Jefferson, who maintained Christian religious beliefs KNEW that a democracy could not exist if one religion was officially sanctioned, and all others, not. This included principally: A. Making laws according to a particular faith which did not serve the public good B Diverting public tax money to a particular church or faith 2. Self-Government - 3 unrelated bullets put together to seem like a solid idea Religion is AN inculcator for virtue. There are many others 3. Understanding When the Founders' Original Intent Began to Change - Besides being horribly oxymoronic, ambiguously worded,... Assuming what was meant was "Understanding when public perception of the Founders' original intent began to change" The cases they cite are just plain wrong. Everson v Board of Education The court ruled in the Board's favor, allowing tax money to be used to reimburse parents for the cost of busing their children to private schools (which could be religious) This was a close decision, but was inconsequential in public perception of th FOunders' intent Engel v Vitale - Forced Prayer in Public schools - This is the EXACT sort of nonsense that Jefferson was battling in Virginia! DeSantis indoctrination camps are filled with Himmler style propaganda with no basis in fact.
