https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.foxnews.com/us/florida-bill-could-gun-owners-huge-win-us-constitutional-carry-majority-country.amp Not sure how I feel about it yet. There are already background checks to buy a firearm, so doing the same background check (and paying for it) doesn't make much sense. I have a permit to carry a concealed weapon. Getting that permit wasn't that big a deal to me, so I don't see it as a massive hindrance for others. But even if the law says you can carry a concealed weapon, some businesses have policies against firearms on their premises. I try not to go to places I think I will need a gun. But I do carry quite a bit more often, since the Pulse shootings. So I think this may be good for self-defense. But I'm afraid some yahoo cowboy will go all yeehaw on somebody and fuck it up. If this law passes, which it probably will given a GOP Supermajority in our Statehouse and a GOP governor, then we'll have to watch crimerates in Florida. They may rise, fall, or be exactly the same. Like I said, getting a permit isn't that big a deal.
