Another thought is that for me and most others, we are different in the various aspects of our life. Just as we can be a Dom at work and a sub at home, our personalities vary as well, and I don't think one is automaticallt more valid than the others.

kyakitten -> RE: Doms/Subs different on personality tests?? (12/12/2004 2:59:13 PM)

Okay, that's ten Intuitives, one Sensor. Any other Sensors out there? Please speak up and scuttle my theories!

BeachMystress -> RE: Doms/Subs different on personality tests?? (12/12/2004 4:52:37 PM)

I usually test out as either a Introverted Sensing Feeling Perceiver (ISFP) commonly referred to as "The Gentle Artist". or a Introverted Intuitive Feeling Perceiver (INFP) commonly referred to as "The Idealistic Philosopher". This test put me as Introverted Intuitive Feeling Judging (INFJ), aka "Counselor Idealist" no matter how many times I took it. (numbers from last test, Introverted 22, Intuitive 33, Feeling 33, Judging 56)

I do not think personality type indicates Dominant or submissive bent. I function quite well as a Dominant while I know someone who seems to be the same type as I am who makes a wonderful sub. These tests may be indicators of basic personality leanings, they do not take into account what you do with it. The human brain is way too complicated for a simple temperament test to classify.

moonvine -> RE: Doms/Subs different on personality tests?? (12/12/2004 5:54:10 PM)

I'm an INFP and submissive, just for a data point.

Have you ever looked on one of those placemats in Chinese restaurants that describe all the different types from Chinese astrology? I often find that I can see at least parts of myself in about half of them.

Yes I have. And although I see different aspects of me in all of them, the one I resemble the most is the Ox. Which I am.

Take care,

HadesJester -> RE: Doms/Subs different on personality tests?? (12/14/2004 4:58:59 PM)

We had a discussion about this in one of the many groups I attend locally. I was surprised there as well as here how many INFJs there are, as that is the rarest of the types (approx. 1% of the population). What also surprises me is that during that meeting all the INFJs in the room were female submissives. That seems fairly common here as well. The reason I found it so surprising is I myself am INFJ though I am male and dominant.

Very interesting indeed.

BlkTallFullfig -> RE: Doms/Subs different on personality tests?? (12/14/2004 7:02:18 PM)

Apparently, I am INFJ=
Intorverted 67 (distinctly expressed), /Intuitive 57(moderately expressed), /Feeling 22(slightly expressed), /Judging 33 (moderately expressed); not sure how that works, in terms of percentages to equal 100.
I too am a counseor Idealist apparently, and it rings true for most part in it's description; and I am a Domme.

Destinysskeins -> RE: Doms/Subs different on personality tests?? (12/16/2004 10:38:36 AM)

Greetings,

i too, think it's interesting that many submissives are identified as INFJs. Perhaps, their intense empathic sides lend them to this life more readily?

Anywho, this is how i scored...

Introverted / Intuitive / Feeling / Judging
11 / 56 / 22 / 11

slightly expressed introvert
moderately expressed intuitive personality
slightly expressed feeling personality
slightly expressed judging personality

Well wishes

CTclay,
This was interesting. Thanks!

SHOCKING - Dominant tendencies, with a predilection for taking command, and being in control.

Now when beth takes it, we'll test the validity for the opposite extreme.

lilninotchka -> RE: Doms/Subs different on personality tests?? (12/16/2004 7:35:59 PM)

For the purposes of research...

Introverted 78%
Intuitive 44%
Thinking 11%
Judging 22%

Which puts me in the 'Mastermind' thing...

quote:

ORIGINAL: CTclay

Which makes me a "Mastermind" -- which seems odd since I'm a submissive. The description says: "Natural leaders, Masterminds are not at all eager to take command of projects or groups, preferring to stay in the background until others demonstrate their inability to lead."

and i will most definitely 'take over' when the one i'm with demonstates lack of ability or desire to lead...and then i get stressed because i am so not comfortable with 'taking over' - i end up non-directional (is that even a word??) or something like that...and then i have to leave it.

i have to agree that it seems fairly accurate - at least in comparison with my own view of myself. It has to be though, because i am the one who answered the questions...

Wow the descriptions on here of my personality sort of give me the creeps a little

quote:

The Counselor Idealists are abstract in thought and speech, cooperative in reaching their goals, and directive and introverted in their interpersonal roles. Counselors focus on human potentials, think in terms of ethical values, and come easily to decisions. The small number of this type (little more than 2 percent) is regrettable,

Cause I'm the BOMB baby ~grin~ Honestly, I think it's a little freakish myself LOL. In my line of work, I have to be out there, meeting people all the time, walk up to strangers and talk to them as if I've known them for years...I think that's really honed my extrovert skills and made them second nature. And I'm the Bomb of course ~grin~

I don't understand the introverted people. I've never been one to stand around and wait for life to deal me my hand. I often say I live a 'Risk Based Life'. Now, mind you, I'm not like jumping out of airplanes or doing much high risk adventure stuff; it's more along the lines that I'm willing to seize a window of opportunity, even if the window is only slightly ajar and pursue things that interest me. I've had really wonderful, life changing experiences simply because I took a risk, pursued something on the off chance, or did something on a bet/dare. I tend to see life as a buffet, and I'm really interested in tasting all of the dishes it has to offer.

Lily

I’m an introvert but I force my self to interact in social situations. It’s always painful and awkward from me at first but I do like to meet new people. Once I get comfortable I let me guard down.
