ORIGINAL: JVoV I think a lot of what is being labeled as "woke" is really just right. Most people that whine about Critical Race Theory have absolutely no idea what it actually is. They just use it as code for taking racist actions. It's similar to anything having to do with gay rights being labeled as the "Gay Agenda". And until there is true equality, there will always be those that resent being considered less than Any time government or a private company has to set standards to make people do the right thing, that usually means things aren't right in the first place. Sure, there are extremists in any group, minorities included. Black supremacists exist. But most Black people just want to be treated equally. And I don't know why we capitalize Black people but say wypipo, but whatevs. I don't classify people be race when they're in my life. I don't hide the real silver when Best Buy sense out a Black guy when I call out Geek Squad. That doesn't mean I'm gonna put up with a bunch of shit out of anyone, regardless of their race. I had a delivery driver yesterday getting mad at me because he was at the wrong house. He was Black and blamed the GPS. Nevermind the great big sign with the address on the gate and me waiting out front for him. Some people are just dumbasses. Oh well, at least he spoke English. I don't ask Latinx dudes for their green cards, citizenship status, or birth country unless I'm comfortable enough with them. Then again, I don't usually talk much to anyone unless I'm comfortable with them, like in a frequent acquaintance or possible friend kinda way. I really just don't like people., cuz most people suck. But companies and governments have to set laws and standards to make things right, otherwise things will never be right. I believe there should be more Black people charged with white collar crimes, but that can't happen until they can get white collar jobs. I am very proud that we finally have had our first Black president and our first female vice president in this country. Thatsm is huge progress. But we have to get all these firsts the hell out of the way. And that means doing the hard work so that there can be equal opportunity for every child. Any child should strive do be the absolute best they can be and we as a community need to do what we can to make that happen, cuz we're gonna need them not to be total dumbasses at some point. Like when they're our doctor or a politician. At no point do I remember CondikeeA Rice or Colin Powell taking any heat from Democrats because of their race. But Obama was. And don't get me started on how differently Michelle Obama was treated than Melania by the other side's media. But we should probably now acknowledge that we've had our very first nude model first lady. Yay for that, I guess. I think the advancements in this country that gave us our first Black president made a lot of people lose their minds and want to revert back to a time when such things weren't even possible. And then gay marriage was legalized? It's easy to understand the MmmAGA mindset. But it's time to let go of the ways of the past that allowed human beings to be treated with disrespect and disregard because of their race, gender-identiry, love life, or whatever else. Don't get caught up in the "woke" label. Learn the facts and think for yourself. I think you know me well enough that I ALWAYS think for myself. Woke is the ideology of dividing people by race and sexual orientation, and assigning some as "privleged", and others as "oppressed". It is divisive, destructive, and literally racist. We had our first Black President because he was the best candidate running, not because of "woke" ideology. I am very proud of that. We have our first openly gay Transportation Secretary (and former Presidential candidate) because he is highly qualified and intelligent. Not because of woke ideology. I am very proud of that as well.
