Bill Clinton
Former US President Bill Clinton is also mentioned in the court documents.

While Sjoberg said she did not meet Clinton, she testified that Epstein said to her: “Clinton likes them young,” apparently referring to girls. While Giuffre had mentioned earlier that Clinton and Epstein had a close relationship, she did not accuse him of any illegal action.

Donald Trump
Former President Donald Trump is also mentioned in the documents but not accused.

Stephen Hawking
The late physicist’s name was mentioned in an email sent by Epstein to Maxwell in January 2015. In this email, Epstein told Maxwell to “issue a reward” to any of Giuffre’s friends, family and acquaintances to come forward and disprove Giuffre’s allegations, including against Hawking.

Not all the documents have been unsealed. The judge hasn’t set a target for when all of the documents should be made public, but more documents are expected to come out in the next few days. Lawyers for one individual, Doe 107, wrote to the judge, arguing they could face victimisation in their home country and requested time to submit grounds for their name to remain sealed.

I think if there was any evidence at all of Trump being a client of Epstein's, it would have come out by now. Unless Bill Clinton is on that list too, in which case that list will just be lost forever. Or be conveniently released after Clinton's death. Unless Hillary or their daughter stop it.

X is an app though, not a journalist. It's not a specific source. There are left and right wing sources on there, that are professional journalists. There are also accounts run by various newspapers and other media.i don't know how this has been measured. Do people spend more time on X than watching the news on TV or reading a paper/magazine? Do the push notifications sent out every time Britney farts count?

I don't consider X a news app, though I have often gotten news from Twitter when it was called that. I don't consider most cable news channels as news channels either. They would fall under "infotainment", just like most morning shows and talk shows. I don't consider The View a news show, even though they often discuss the news.

But I have a strict definition for the term, and it has gotten stricter since 2016.

I do believe that more people are getting their news from X around the world. I don't see that as entirely a good thing though, because there is a serious lack of journalistic integrity and oversight. That sort of thing may be necessary in countries with oppressive regimes. I don't think the US in one of those though.

It's so awesome how you can quote somebody else. So much easier than having an opinion of your own.

Musk co-founded PayPal. I don't know what he actually did during the creation of the company, but apparently it was enough to make a shitload of money.

The above quote does nothing to actually dispell anything Oliver said in his segment, but attacked Oliver himself. It's a weak tactic and rather useless here. It certainly doesn't change my mind about anything that was said about Musk in the segment. Any discussion of things you find to be false in the segment should be pointed out.

Jeff Bezos didn't invent everything in Amazon, but that doesn't take anything away from Amazon or Bezos. His ex-wife did, but that's another matter.

I don't think Elon or SpaceX are less than for using (and bettering) ideas and technology from NASA. Elon and Tesla have made a huge impact on electric vehicle technology and I expect that to continue with the driving AI software.

That doesnt negate anything said in the segment though.

And Elon still jumps funny.

And Trump went to Carter's funeral, but you've been howling about him lately.

Musk's feelings about Jews is less of a concern for me than his reported Messiah complex, possibly criminal workplace violations (including refusing Covid shutdowns), and being "too big to fail" in so many ways.

I think there should be more accountability for the wealthy in America. Trump, Musk, Oprah, Taylor Swift, whoever. I think if the amount of taxes you're supposed to pay is greater than say 5x an IRS agent's starting salary, then you should just get one assigned to you. Maybe 10x, that's negotiable.

Last year EV sales in UK were 20%, USA 8%, Norway 98%.

The only people who do not want to switch to electric are the usual suspects. Big oil, Banks, hedge funds, etc.

Trump, Musk, GOP and those sorts added 200K to 500K additional USA covid deaths because of their policies. Sure as fuck that lot got their covid jabs the minute they were out whilst allowing 100s thousands of American's to needlessly die.

Switching to electric vehicles on its own does fuckall to help the environment. Electricity is usually produced with fossil fuels.

A Chinese company doing better than an American company is not comforting at all and really, kinda meaningless, since I have no idea if those cars are sold outside of China or not. But if they are, fuck anybody that has bought one. I would say the same thing about a Russian company, or Iranian, Birth Korean, etc. I may not agree with Elon Musk and his ways, but I sure as hell am not going to trust anything Chinese right now. Maybe TikTok or Temu.

They are called renewables for a reason and depending which country Norway sits about 99%, UK can supply all its electricity on a windy day via installed wind turbines not the ones pending.

America is languishing far behind. Oddly I think Texas is perhaps your best wind state and actually exports that power to other states.

China installed more renewables than all countries combined last year.
Since 2018, the U.S. tariff on most EV imports from China has been 27.5 percent (2.5 percent MFN and an additional 25 percent Section 301 tariff). Despite the high tariffs, U.S. EV imports from China increased from $7.2 million to $388.8 million during 2018–23 but were still only two percent of U.S. EV imports.

There is something fundamentally wrong with most American's take on renewables and Global warming to annihilation. If you guys want to burn the planet and turn your country into more toxic shithole (your 3/4 the way there) go for it.

The simple fact is that there is not a renewable source available currently to replace fossil fuels. Even if all vehicles were electric, it would only shift the pollution to the power plants, unless that is also renewable. But the only renewable power plant that can produce enough power is nuclear and that's probably a bad idea.

I'm not one of these "windmills kill birds and cause cancer" types. My truck is FlexFuel and I plan on getting the Escalade XLT in an EV version later this year. But I don't have to worry about what my power use is contributing to climate change, because I have solar panels on my home and have since I ama gave us tax credits it rebates it whatever for that shit, making it profitable for me to do that. I think I managed to snag like $500 out of all that between federal and state tax breaks.

But I live in Florida, so solar power works a lot better here than it would in some places.

Yes, we all need to shift towards renewables energy sources and that will likely look different for rach of us. But the technology and desire to replace fossil fuels just isn't there yet, making it an unrealistic goal right now. Like my big ass wearing skinny jeans. I think there should be age & weight restrictions on things like that, like by law. People in Congress should have to spend an hour in a rural WalMart each week so they know what kind of laws are actually needed. Maybe the UN too. Spandex tube tops in a 3X should be a crime against humanity.
