As I said on another thread Nick Clegg leaves Meta ahead of Trump's return as US president (ex UK Liberal Democrat MP) - stood down from Facebook a little over a week ago. He got the best part of £40 million payments/shares for his 6 or so years there. Replaced by some trump nazi I heard Nick Clegg was one of our centre parties if you wondered. Leader of lib dem coalition 2010. Not that I like Mark Zuckerberg but he knows which side his bread is buttered. He probably everything Trump is but greed and survival wins the day. American laws allow foreign influence over our elections through social media and that has not been changed or even mentioned by Congress that I know of. I just saw a TikTok video promoting a silly conspiracy theory that most Washington politicians have stock in Meta or X, so of course voted in a bipartisan fashion to ban TikTok, as it was hurting their bottom line. Just a silly conspiracy theory I'm sure.

I'm sure Zuck said it. But he's still too vague. And he wasn't involved in the conversations, so he only has secondhand knowledge of them? Maybe he was lied to? It happens. The task of fact-,checking isn't biased. A person can be biased about what they choose to factchecj though. I have never believed Zuck anyway. But I'm not boy otting Meta because the have AI glasses that really help blind people now. I think I want those. It would be the first time I ever buy Ray-Bans too.
