God and everybody has known for years and years that LA was ripe for the severe firestorm we are currently seeing - President Trump talked about it six years ago

https://x.com/DDGriff1776/status/1877204001156223247

California is a uniparty state - they can't blame Republicans this time

So what did they do to prepare?

They didn't clear away brush

They didn't create firebreaks

They didn't build sufficient water storage capacity DESPITE the fact that voters passed a measure to do so

They cut the fire budget by over $100 million, city & state both

They focused on DEI rather than competency, to the point of openly discriminating against white men

They drove insurance companies out of the state

Put it all together and it REALLY looks like it was planned this way. Watch now as billionaire investors storm in and buy up alot of that prime coastal California property land for pennies on the dollar

What else makes sense.

Trump claimed Newsom "refused to sign the water restoration declaration" that he said would have directed millions of gallons of water to areas now burning, alleging he prioritized a small fish, called a smelt, over residents.

In response, Newsom's office said, "There is no such document as the water restoration declaration – that is pure fiction.

“Meet Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley,” the X account Libs of TikTok, known for spreading anti-LBGTQ+ rhetoric, posted. “She boasts about being the first female and LGBTQ fire chief in the LA Fire Department. Promoting a culture of DEI is her priority. Does this make you feel safer?” In another tweet, the same account, which has nearly 4 million followers, wrote: “DEI will get people k*lled. DEI must DIE.”

Also weighing in against her was Patrick Soon-Shiong, the politically idiosyncratic owner of the Los Angeles Times, who echoed the attack, posting on X that “the Mayor cut LA Fire Department’s budget by $23M.”

That assertion is wrong. The city was in the process of negotiating a new contract with the fire department at the time the budget was being crafted, so additional funding for the department was set aside in a separate fund until that deal was finalized in November. In fact, the city’s fire budget increased more than $50 million year-over-year compared to the last budget cycle, according to Blumenfield’s office, although overall concerns about the department’s staffing level have persisted for a number of years.

False claims of federal disaster relief funds being diverted to migrants have also resurfaced. Criticism of environmental practices, like allegedly protecting fish over people or limiting prescribed burns have been elevated. Unrelated donations to Ukraine became a scapegoat. Donald Trump Jr, the president’s oldest son, intimated that donations the Los Angeles fire department sent to Ukraine in 2022 somehow were related to the response.

People from varying points on the political spectrum, including the Los Angeles Times publisher, Patrick Soon-Shiong, have claimed the fire department’s budget saw big cuts – it did not, Politico notes.

Deflections of the role climate crisis plays in increasing natural disasters have received millions of views.

LA Building code changed in 2008. The houses still standing in piles of ashes are probably them or were you thinking particle beam weaponry from outer space liked what happened to Hawaii and as such global warming is complete lefty nonsense?

BoscoX anything else genius? Say, nothing to do with Global warming creating yet another American tinder box in what should have been the wet season?

Sure - California Democrats did everything right. OBVIOUSLY. The REAL problem, is a guy who isn't even in office yet... [/sarcasm]

Trump was directionally accurate - the Delta Smelt received critical water that the people of California desperately need. That has been in the news for over a decade: https://www.latimes.com/environment/story/2024-10-02/california-water-flow-requirement-debate

Here's California's Democrat Governor calling for an investigation into why LA fire hydrants have no water https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Gg9m_xMWYAAVw_7?format=jpg&name=large

If our naturally ever-changing climate is making fire seasons longer and more severe, that means they should be increasing budgets rather than slashing them, and focusing less on anti-Whie male DEI insanity and more on competency and preparedness. In other words, it only makes the case that they're doing literally everything 100% wrong

Yes - literally everything you think you know is either a lie, or a hoax.

DEI is just a dumb thing to bitch about. People other than white Anglo-Saxon men can do stuff too. I have heard whining about the fact that this chick got the job, but not a word about her actual qualifications.

Florida is pretty much all Republican and we still have property insurance issues. Companies like to just leave the state.

Honestly. I think Florida has most of the best environmental protection laws in the country, because our citizens demand it. Hopefully the next governor we have will have some damn sense about the environment. Although, banning books means less trees get cut down, so that's good. Except for people that have allergies.

People died from the horrific DEI-related mismanagement, people lost their pets, their homes, their businesses, and California is suffering the worst property damages from a wildfire in history - this is devastating to Southern California

WTF is wrong with you

Here's video of a LA fire department DEI hire declaring that if she can't carry a victim out of a fire because she is pathetic and weak, it's their fault for being in the fire in the first place

https://x.com/loglibofficial/status/1877540512476823938

DEI means hiring the unqualified because they check certain boxes, and turning the most highly qualified away in many cases

Because they don't check any boxes

So is the fire chief incapable of doing the job because she's a LGBT she, or cuz she didn't have enough funding?

How can a mayor, which is an elected political position, be a DEI hire?

The fact is that Newsom's policy have effected water availability. Things like the snow melt was allowed to flow into the ocean and it's illegal to collect rain water. Our county allowed for reimbursement for artificial turf, but we had to have a thriving lawn, with one of the highest water rates in the state...and then kill it to qualify for it.

The policies are ridiculous. I think CA will finally get rid of Newsom because of this and mayor of LA is done.

If the DEI hire HAS to check so many identity politics boxes, odds are that more qualified candidates with higher seniority get passed over - and very often, innocent people die. Boeing DEI hires stranded astronauts in space, so now Musk has to rescue them. Fortunately for the nation, the Democrat Party tried a DEI hire candidate... At least THAT worked out well

The water policies of the entire region make no sense to me. Putting any water in an ocean that is already rising due to climate change just seems counterintuitive.

I don't expect the mayor or LA to be voted back in. Anf it looks like Newsome is gonna face a recall vote - again.

Watch as the owner of the Los Angeles Times admits that Democrats exist in a dysfunctional echo chamber. In the video segment, he comes within a fraction of an inch of admitting that his newspaper and the state are one of the same.

VIDEO-

quote:

LA Times owner is astounded that California continues to elect incompetent people:
Leland Vittert: "Pacific Palisades Reservoir was offline and empty when the firestorm exploded."
Patrick Soon-Shiong: "That is so crazy that we have leaders that a reactive rather than proactive. I mean, it really emphasizes what I tweeted yesterday about issues of competence. And I think that's why when we're really concerned, we don't elect people with great operational competence."

LA Times: Endorses Commies, DEI hires, Nincompoops
Also LA Times: I can't believe everyone in CA is incompetent

Global warming nothing to do with it then?

Best you sack all the federal and bloat then. As decreed by you maga headbangers.
I do not rate my chance's pissing into a flame thrower coming at me at 90mph.

Puerto Rico the democrats fault too was it?

Much like global temperature rises fires happen all the time don't they because its natural innit? And those great floods happen every other week, according to the 10 commandment's nailed to the wall next to the fucking flat earth maps!

It also had nothing to do with some fish. I will give you all a very quick lesson. Exterminate the sparrows

Mao, it turns out, wanted to prevent the abundant birds from eating grain seeds — a perceived threat to farm production. To stop sparrows from doing what comes naturally, China directed its citizens to persecute the birds at a level of carnage that may remain unmatched in human history.21 Oct 2024

Some 50-200 million huwmans died because of that.

Where does LA gets its water from anyway? Your reservoir's were above average this year.

3x 1 million gallon tanks were full but I presume that means the LA water supply? That wont last LA 1 day.
Should have told the population of LA not to use their taps or flush the loo then?

Hawaii was the democrats fault too then was it? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_Hawaii_wildfires

If you can afford a $500,000 to $350 million buck hovel but not a fire suppression system then money well spent!
