It is amazing that people who make fun of religious people for being naive, will gobble up this nonsense. If you read some of these prophecies, you can make them fit any scenario. A major war will take place sometime in the future? Amazing! It will take place in Europe? How could he know that? Maybe because humans have been fighting all over the world (especially Europe) since time began. Way to go out on a limb.
And sorry to tell you. The world is not overpopulated. That is another stupid movement that was very popular in the 70's. Luckily for the US, we didn't buy into that nonsense, but European countries and countries like Japan are having a major crisis because of their low birth rates. Maybe they should have consulted Nostradamus first.

Hi ya Estring.
Don't understand how the OP got changed to overpopulation...lol. Anyway, the Quatrains say WW1 and II take place in Europe (which we already know), but the quatrains 'suggest' the # III begins w/ a war in the Middle East, thus Persia (what Nostradamus calls it back then, which is now modern day Iran, Iraq..etc....

Maybe I got lost? LOL...anyway, thanks for posting![:D]
Warmly

Irish

I disagree.  we are at capacity.    a cage might hold more rats- but not comfotably. we take up more space and use up more resources then at any other time in history. it isnt sustainable. if something bails us out- great.

6 billion on earth is capacity.

figure 10 billion in 20 yrs.

OR suppose 300 million grab the consumption level of americans.   that wont work for too long.

There is a huge crisis in Europe, Japan and probably some other countries because they bought into this overpopulation hysteria that was around in the 70's. As a result, the birth rate has been so low in these countries for all these years and now the population is prodominantly elderly and shrinking at such a rate that there are not enough young people to work and repopulate.
We don't live in a cage. We have plenty of room in this world to accomodate the population. The problem is when too many people try to live in one specific area.

Anybody that reads Revelations literally knows nothing about the Bible.  Paul wrote it in code on purpose, so that it could get past his Roman captors without being censored.  He was warning the Jews of tribulations to come at the hands of the Romans.

Revelation was written by John at the behest of Jesus Christ.  It is more appropriately known as the Revelation of Jesus Christ, and was revealed to John while he was imprisoned on the Island of Patmos.  John was instructed to write of the things that were, the things that are, and the things that are to come.
Individuals may take it any way they wish, and draw a conclusion that this is history past, present, or future, but unless I am unaware, I have never heard  Paul credited for the writings.

irishbynature -> RE: Nostradamus (7/31/2006 8:21:46 PM)

Goddess...I agree..."John Of Patmos" was exiled by Nero and the writings are dated 200 years afterward. Also, 666 does equal "Nero!"

Biblical historians still debate over the two Johns, etc...but if you read Revelations closely, it does tell us about the Fall of Rome, and Nero.

Respectfully,
Irish

No, you are absolutely right.  It is John.  I am so very sorry.  I get the two confused ALL the time.  My apologies.

The things that "are to come" already came to pass.  Go over it again.  The Jews suffered their fate at the hands of the Romans, as predicted.

I have one test for anyone who thinks they can "see into the future";
"Give me the Powerball  Lottery numbers."
NONE of them can do it.

irishbynature -> RE: Nostradamus (8/1/2006 4:36:18 AM)

Powerball 6, 3, 7 (lol)
