Now I understand why it's been difficult to type the last year. I understand why i lost my sense of smell 7 years ago. I understand why I freeze when i am walking and turn to a different direction and why right hand shakes. It's a bummer. But the good thing is that I've started on meds. It'll be another couple weeks as I gradually work up to full dose of the meds but it's working already. Doc even thinks that issue I've been having with my right foot is caused by Parkinsons. I'm already 74 so i expect that Parkinson's probably won't kill me. I am just so pleased that my life is more normal today than it was a week ago. It's such a relief to take a medication that makes so much difference. I guess I'm writing this in case someone who is reading it has similar symptoms. First was the loss of the sense of smell. Then right foot hurt. Foot then swelled up and was infected but never completely recovered. Then tremors in just the thumb before traveling to whole hand. Until doc told me I didn't realize that i don't swing my right arm when i walk. The symptom that has bothered me the most is freezing for a moment when i change directions while walking. Makes me feel off balance. Anyway bad news is that I have a nasty disease. Good news is there are some great drugs that help.
