“Honestly, I voted for Clinton and Obama, but I would never feel comfortable talking to them the way I was able to talk with Donald Trump,” Maher said during a 13-minute report on the dinner. “That’s just how it went down, make of it what you will. Me, I feel it’s emblematic of why the Democrats are so unpopular these days.”

Bernie and AOC don't seem.impopular when they go around their country with their rallies. Better brows than a Trump.inauguration. not quite as many as show up to protest him though.

But yeah, Nahar had dinner with Trump, who was apparently really nice and demure with the guy he knew was on TV. Anyone that's ever had inlaws knows you can game being nice through dinner.

Nahar isn't a good indication of approval rates though. Any time he gets down on Dems or says good stuff about the GOP, the right just overplays it. I've seen clips, but I think he's horribly overrated and I rarely agree with what he has to say.

This thread is evidence of how the right just runs with it. Uh huh.

Bosco, I'm not sure why you seem to think only your cult has social media. Mainstream media isn't a reliable source of information. And Nahar had a talk show that deals with politics, not a news show of any sort. I don't have HBO and wouldn't subscribe to it just for him. Would t do it for John Oliver either though. I'll do a few months of Max when DC puts out a couple movies again, maybe.

This is the first time I've been back since the site came back up. What's changed?

Funnily enough I read that Bill Maher article all the way over in Scotland last night. I have seen a few of his shows he isn't bad at all.

Who knows what Bill Maher was expecting but I shouldn't expect Trump is a fucking maniac all the time, especially when he is tucking into his burgers and coke. I doubt Trump has watched more than a few minutes of his shows but he will definitely know who Bill Maher is

One of the rare Bill Maher shows I watched was around about Trump's 1st term when he said Trump will not ever give up power. I think that was before January 6th too. And Bill is/was correct. According to Trump, the stories he tells to the world in public, he won the last one so by his own logic isn't he on his 3rd term?

Russia, Israel, Iran, North Korea, state actors toxic bullshit, propagated via the usual means of social media and their twisted fucked up algorithms aside (enough to tip any american election) the democrats needed to tip it their way buy making their message about the Cost of Living, and Immigration, and thats pretty much it.

Biden Should have stepped aside long before that Biden shitshow of a debate I watched. Not that Trump makes an Iota of sense in any of his rambling debates or speeches, or ever come to think about it.

Kamala was fine.
Bernie I thought would have been a better choice, but the Clintons and their team and donors fucked him over last time.

Trump lies as we all? know, see he doesn't give a shit about the cost of living he only cares about being in power and will say anything to achieve that. Anyhoos, its Project 2025 that won power and now runs America.

8 actually have to agree with Maher here. I'm a former democrat turned independent. The left should listen to Maher but probably won't. Some boring old white guy who's center left. He was the liberal for decade's. He didn't change and neither did I. The Democratic party changed. It's simple

Yeah, the Democratic party has changed. Because once we win a major thing, like civil rights, abortion, gay marriage, we move on to the next issue. We have been far too easily appeased for far too long. But we need to stop playing defense and start playing offense. Not being offensive and crass, but being faster to change institutions, hearts m, and minds once we have accomplished something. We need to embrace what the Republicans are right about and do it better when we get into power, making it impossible for a fake populist like Trump to exploit the vote.

Other than the various clips I see, I don't pay attention to Maher. I'd probably get more information asking Chat GPT why the Dems lost the election than him or pretty much any other television personality. Really, Maher is part of the reason.

We all know trump is a convicted felon..Maher knows that too. Yet somehow orange man hot elected, again. Don't blame me. I definitely didn't vote for him and none of what he is doing surprises me. We need at least one functing opposition party and democrats are it. But also remember just 4 years ago, democrats held congress and the white house. So what happened? Im not a fan of the idea that q convicted felon could even run for president. In most places, convicted felons can't even vote or run for dog catcher but I guess one can be president. Only in America alright. What happened to Obama voters? Where did they go? Both sides have been taken over by those on the fringes of the left and right. It's been a slow, intentional plan by both sides to get rid of their moderates and here we are
