That's the first I had heard of that. It has nothing to do with the Left either. Having looked, it appears The Telegraph, Sun and Daily Mail carried that story, and your X. But the first three probably mentioned this part is some aspect. Grok didnt nor the X link I am 100% certain havent looked.

The Sun He told The Telegraph: “Anybody should be allowed to say anything they wish, as long as it’s not hateful."

As you can see from his own words and that from Snopes, and our links, his own story doesn't add up.

Snopes havent rated the claim yet as they need to see the bail documents but this part is true According to its statement, West Yorkshire Police did not investigate Richelieu-Booth because the photo showed him holding a gun but rather because a complainant interpreted his online posts as a threat to their safety. Gun ownership is legal in the U.K. only with a police-issued license. https://www.snopes.com/news/2025/12/01/uk-police-arrest-gun-photo/
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said in an emailed statement:

Police received a complaint of stalking involving serious alarm or distress, relating partly to social media posts, several of which included pictures of a male posing with a variety of firearms which the complainant took to be a threat. Police investigated and charged a man with a public order offence but the case was then discontinued by the CPS.

your link words it like this Mr Richelieu-Booth claims the LinkedIn message contained nothing he considered threatening, with the picture attached to a lengthy post about his day and work activities.

Grok words it like the nazi propaganda broken peice of shite it has designed to be @grok
Yes, this appears to be a real incident involving Jon Richelieu-Booth, an IT consultant in the UK. He was arrested by West Yorkshire Police after posting a LinkedIn photo of himself with a shotgun during a US holiday. Held overnight, devices seized, charges dropped after investigation, per reports from The Telegraph and Yorkshire Post.

The only way the Police would have visited him first time is if he threatened or stalked someone and using those pictures to do so, or someone in the UK inferred he was holding those weapons here but as far as I can see it was because

Though West Yorkshire Police confirmed the department "investigated and charged" Richelieu-Booth in connection with complaints "relating partly to social media posts," it would not confirm whether this investigation included arrests. Therefore, we leave this claim unrated.

According to its statement, West Yorkshire Police did not investigate Richelieu-Booth because the photo showed him holding a gun but rather because a complainant interpreted his online posts as a threat to their safety. Gun ownership is legal in the U.K. only with a police-issued license.

What exactly he said on social media who knows.
He was arrested the first or second time for breaking bail conditions.

Death threats and stalking will get you cautioned and probably arrested and charged in the UK. Unlike in America as trump and some of your left and right do that all the time.

Charges have been dropped on all matters.

it amazes me when that Afghan mentally ill person shot a couple of people last week Trump and his minions were up in arms
And yet last week you had one mass shotting at a restaurant 4 killed, 10 injured, and no doubt many other shootings. And that is not me mentioning all those school shootings and 50k deaths a year by gun in USA.
