belittledman -> What to wear? (7/30/2006 9:40:26 AM)

Im really interested in going to some fetish nights in my local area, although im a little intimiadted by the dress code and going by myself as this is my first time going to a night like this.  how did you start off going to fetish clubs?  and how do you turn up to nights like that? Do you proudly walk the streets in your attire?

Erm - yes! Naked is frowned upon the nillaworld!

Find out what the code is for the night - you would look a right dork turning up in leather, latex and chains if it is a casual night ;)

As so many on here would advise, try the 'search' facility on this site, there is so much on what to wear.

Look online for pictures of previous events--see what everyone else wears. If you want to be more risque, wear a big jacket over your outfit and just take it off once you get inside. I usually try to get there early so I can find close parking; it sucks walking through long parking lots in seven inch heels. =)

Tal and greetings

If I may sugguest on a night prior to you going to the club you go and observe what those going into the club wear then go out and match it to what you like to wear.  That way you may be more comfortable when you do go and those also attending will feel more comfortable with you...

I wish you well

Clubs that have dress codes will usually tell you what is okay. Some permit black street wear, others like costumes, still others want all present dressed in clothes that are essentially black and red plastic wrap.

Check out the website or flyer for the club, and contact them if there isn't a posted dress code. Beyond that, figure out what suits your self-presentation and body type, and develop an outfit accordingly.

Dress for public play?

FOr a first time, as a male, wearing a nice shirt and jeans or pants with nice shoes should be fine.  After you've gone, you can see for yourself exactly the style of the group and see where you want to fit into that balance.

Very good advice from a knowledgeable lady.

Please excuse me if this is fresh - but you'd make an adorable schoolboy [:)]

Sometimes different clubs have different dress codes. The one fetish night I went to allowed black jeans and a T-shirt. Just no blue jeans.

I wore green crush velvet body suit, PVC pants, and leather riding boots (for the winter weather). I wore all black winter clothes too. I got a few laughs from the normals on the way to the club but otherwise no biggie. Oddly the people laughing were twenty somethings in a part of town that is very trendy now but used to be artsy fartsy and there were drug dealers in various places. Now the place is so comercial and trendy, but most people know that there is a major goth/punk club scene in that area so it's weird anyone would be supprised at the sight of someone in PVC and looking kind of gothy.

That being said if I was wanting to wear something really edgy I'd wear normal street clothes and then change at the club. Most places have changerooms.

I go to a fetish/BDSM club every once in awhile to play....I dont really wear anything special and most of the other people there dont either, but then most people are nude after being inside for a lil while anyway, the subs and slaves anyway lol....but I guess it can depend on the club, and I always have a moment of what the heck do I wear when I go. But the one thing the club does ask is that you either wear normal clothes inside then change or wear a long coat to cover up any fetish wear so as not to draw unwanted attention to the club.
