Long posts aren't so bad if they are interesting to read. Some people are just plain boring whether they are writing short and boring or long and boring.
I read fast and my skimming skills are finely tuned, so I don't really care about length. To me, it's far more annoying to read a series of little chat room messages that say nothing more than 'hello' or *giggles*, or some equally meaningless nugget of nonsense.
There is something here for everyone I guess... long, short, who cares.
