A new devoted monk moves into a monistary to research and serve the lord for the rest of his days. During his first few weeks of reading and taking notes, he realizes that all of his readings were copies of copies and so forth that came from original scrolls passed down. One day, he went to the Father Elder and asked "Father Elder, as I continue to studies our scrolls and take notes, how do I know that I am not copying any mistakes as all these scrolls are copies of copies passed on from generations?" "Well my son, anytime we feel that there may be error or discreptency, myself and the elders have the key to the basement to read the original scroll. Is there something you have in question young man?" "Why no Father Elder. I don't have anything inparticular. It's just that I copied down my Holy Vow and I would like to make sure that my copy is still that of the original." "Well my son, I will gladly compare your notes to our original. I'll be back in about fifteen minuets. An hour later the young monk began to worry that something may had happen to Father Elder. Even though he was not allowed, he dashed down the stairs to the basement ready for almost anything. Once he made it down, he found Father Elder crying with his head down going on "After all these years, after all these years, how could this had happened after all these years Lord?" Confused, the young monk places his hand on Father Elder and asked "Father, is something wrong? Please tell me." Father Elder replies "My son, after all these years of only copying the copies, I found that the original vow reads for us to celibrate. The copy was what reads for us to be celibant.
