This is the one I want to get personally. But if you can't really afford that sort of thing right away, a big dog kennel works just as well.

You can find them at pet stores, too. (Imagine that!) They are less expensive and less apt to cause questions if seen by vanillas. If you're looking for an attractive cage, take a look at this rattan kennel at Cabela's:
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=search&id=0028754618654a&navCount=2&podId=0028754&parentId=cat600050&navAction=push&catalogCode=XG&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat600050&hasJS=true

There's a good selection at Doctors Foster and Smith:

you know what I always wounder about cages-----and this came from a Mistress  who brought this to my attention...

What good is a slave if you have to lock him or her up? Isin't there something for them to do  to please the mistress? With the exception of sleep or the desire for confinement or punishment, does a slave really have that much time to live in one???

Just woundering how others see it ???

i dont know what other people think, but for me i dont think that cages are always punishment, for me a cage is another form of bondage, and for that reason i quite like them....

For a Dom/me i guess it could be the same thing, if they are in the middle of session, or if they just want the subbie out of the way as a bit of fun while they are doing other things, a cage is a reasonably safe but secure way of keeping the subbie trapped and in bondage, and also, for the voyeurs, for the sub to be watched by the Dom/me or others

just my thoughts

Should be able to get a big dog cage at a pet store...or make one using 2x4's and Chicken wire.Build a frame and wrap in wire...shouldnt take more than a day to build.

i started out as a slave to my Mistress. i am now just her puppy, and am being trained as one. i spend hours in a cage to keep me confined while she naps. She will also be getting a baby moniter to keep a constant watch of her puppy even while she is in another room. For me, it is very humiliating to be in that kennal while she stands over me. poochie

To answer the original question, my cage also came from a pet store. It is 48" long and 34" wide. It folds flat when not in use. It was around a $100.00. poochie

A pet store is your best bet. From what I have heard, the regular dog cages work just fine. Unless you want something fancy from the internet. In that case you will end up spending a lot of money.

You can try second hand or used 'junk' shops or flea markets for a cheaper alternative for a kennel. Most people sell them when are past usefulness - you might try local classifieds also.

Caging, in its experience, is mainly used for those times when the (insert appropriate term here) is not needed for anything - sleep or rest time, occasionally bound and caged as a mild punishment. When there is something it could or should be doing, there is no crawling in the cage allowed. lol

Sir

Last I checked, there were pet stores in CA that sell dog crates.

I agree it doesnt have to be for punishment of any kind-I use cages and have found them quite nice for training, as well as (if 'pet' is amll enough) to transport-course depends on Dommes Needs--I have bought them from pet stores-and even one from Wal-Mart. I agree with Yang4yin that it doesnt raise questions.

We got ours at  a pet store, seems the most reasonable place to find a dog cage.  They offer about 5 diff sizes, most under $100

It pleases me to see my boy locked in a cage.

Sir,

The one that I love the most comes from Mr. S. but you can get a cage for I think I know who... from any of the pet stores, or build one out of 2x4's and some copper, steel, or other metal tubing. Just drill holes in the 2x4 frame, insert the tubes, and then fasten them somehow. Ask the guys at Cliff's. If you need help I'll be at the Eagle on Sunday and we can talk.
