(Maybe a section called "Current Events" or "Stuff I can't figure out where to put" ?)

Anyway...In Seattle recently (in the last few days), some Muslim dude (who was deemed to be lacking some faculties) shot a bunch of Jewish people.

Now, of course, being from Seattle, I have a raft of assumption from the local press.

What are your thoughts?

What are the ramifications, if any, of what took place here?

Well, I don't know about lefties but...I just figured out what Alumbrado was saying.

I would think the ramifications would be that he would go to jail harming people...also, it appears to be a hate crime on top of everything. Most ppl who do that are lacking "mental" faculties (in my opinion).

Careful what you say, LTR, or half the board will throw labels at you like "racist" and "bigot" before you even sit down for a beer.

He was probably half a bubble off plum and was upset with the turmoil in the Middle East.  It is bound to happen.  My bet is that he has family over there, perhaps even some that died.  The press will never tell you.  They will set him up to be a monster.  That is what they do best, and that is what sells papers.

Of course that does not make what he has done right, but it is no different than any other murder, save for possibly the hate aspect of it.    People get mad at others.  The school.  The institution.  The rich.  Whatever.  They buy a gun or a knife and take their anger out on them.  It happens every day.

I do not see how, when you look at the facts... Jews.. Muslim...  Corresponds to the war in the Middle East, not Iraq.

Around my parts, it happens quite frequently, and people will use what ever excuse suits them in the moment as a justification for their actions and lack of self control or empathy for others.  From vigilante to terrorist and everything in between, it just seems that we have an angry people these days, and the world is getting more scarier to live in with each generation that passes.  i remember when in my community, there was a time when we didn't even have to lock our doors.

We were talking abut this at golf today because one of my ladies club members was a friend of the lady that was killed. It is so sad, apparently she was one of the nicest, kindest, giving people out there. Also she wasn't Jewish but worked at the center because her husband (ex for the last 43 years) was Jewish. My friend wasn't sure is she ever converted to Judaism  (sp?)or not.
