I want to find botanical gardens and go shoot. I also want to go to some of the best nurseries here and shoot the baby plants. We have old fashioned candy stores in old sac, and someone put the bug into my head and now i want to go photograph the huge barrles of candy.

Does any one know of Botanical gardens or any places that could be really neat to shoot, I mean other than the zoo. I thought about that but decided not really great.

Why not take a drive up the North Fork of the American River to Soda Springs and hike into ''Royal Gorge’’; it's some of the most spectacular scenery in the area.

One of my favorite spots for photographing flowers may surprise you, but it's Alcatraz. I've been there in the springtime (haven't checked this late in the year) and there were tons of nice shots. Aside from flowers, other places in the area I love to shoot are Tioga Pass, Hetch hetchy, Lee Vining, Lundy Canyon (spectacular in the fall colors), and Sonora Pass.

UT I am not pychically capable of hiking or the excertion of it. I can not be on my feet  for as long as a hike requires,  I am barely even able to stand or walk 5 mins with out pain, and my back can not handle the stress either. Walking and bareing weight is extreamly painfull and stressfull due to my medical conditions. I also now suffer from torn plantar ligiments, which just complicates things.  It sounds like it'd be beautiful if you didn't have to "hike in"

I hear that some national parks and botanical gardens have rules against photographing, you have to pay to photograph or something or have explicit permission.

Do you know anything about that/

TS, loooooooooooooooooooooong time ago our school and group home went to a trip to Alcatraz, but I was grounded so I didn't get to go. I never thought of them as a photo op. I'll have to find out if they have flowers and stuff this late in season!

Beaches are also neat if not a little limited.
