ORIGINAL: bashfulgirl does a bdsm Master or Mistress have the right to "brand his/her property with a piece of hot steel? i understand that its done in Gor but in plain bdsm? In a word... Yes. They have every right to do it if that is part of the relationship. That is key though.. is it consentual within the bounds of the relationship itself. Whether you practice Gor, Old Guard, New Guard, BDSM, whatever.. you are ultimately practicing your own brand of lifestyle.. as I have yet to come across any relationship that is exactly the same as any other relationship. (In my years in this lifestyle.. I have seen countless relationships with every type of catagorization title slapped on them.) If it is within the bounds of the relationship that the people are in then yes. If part of the relationship is that the girl or boy is the property of the owner, then in theory that owner can do as they please to their property. It is a harsh way of saying it sure but if the slave doesn't want it, then they can choose to leave. If the owner is so dead set on a branding and will do it even though it may chase off a valued piece of property well.. what does that say about the owner? Personally.. I adore brandings, but if I end up with a Master who just isn't in to them I wouldn't sacrifice the relationship over it. Having the "right" to do something is a touchy word and is hard to pin down, and I understand that some or all of the things I say here are not going to be agreed upon by most but hey.. differences are good right?
