Status: offline 		Yeah, but the lower pitch shows physical dominance, not social dominance.  If you want a man to drag you around by your hair and have a short term thing, I guess lower voices are for you.  If you are looking for the psychological aspects, I think you are looking in the wrong neck of the woods.

Status: offline 		I think the voice can be such an aprodishiac. Some are so sexy it's just incredible.
A great voice is a huge turn on (To me, it doesn't really have to be deep. Some higher tenor voices are sexy as all get out, I think, also. Of course I have Switch tendencies)...But I have a real thing for voices.I think many women do. I think they ave more auditory memeory. Men may be turned on most by what they see. But women are definitely (I think) turned on by what they read and hear.

Status: offline 		Very interesting study.  I wonder if the raising of pitch in deference to a seemingly more dominant male is a self-defense mechanism?

Things that hold some Universal Truth are often overdone in poetry. Such is the medium.

Many people who would not aspire to put together a short story, think anyone can write poetry. As a writer with lifelong experience in many genres, I will tell you I'm a very mediocre poet. It's not a simple genre to master.

Works for me...

I adore a man who doesn't have to raise his voice to get my attention. Loud voices generally give the impression that the person is out of control, and that alerts my defenses.

Anyone who has done research into leadership knows that a soft, deep, voice will garner the most attention. It works on children, dogs, and apparently on submissives. LOL

However, I am sad to report, it doesn't work on cats. But then again, nothing does.

Status: offline 		I have a deep, authoritative voice which causes problems as a submissive.  Essentially, nobody believes me.  I've looked into estrogen therapy but it's very expensive with no real assurances.  I'm not sure exactly where to turn.  I've searched CM for some advice but haven't been able to come up with anything workable.  I know there must be other ways to deal with this problem but it's a constant struggle.  I think it's true that a deeper, more authoritative voice denotes dominance.  I just wish I could do something to more accurately reflect who I am.  (And yes, I've tried helium but the effects are short-lived).

I've found that a sub w/ a deeper voice is more of turn on.
