I would like to find information about branding. Where would I find information about how to brand someone?

I found some decent hits using "BDSM Branding" in google. The two most common kinds are strike branding and cauterizing pen. Stike branding uses a straight wire is heated with a propane torch, and that is laid across the flesh, working around the design. The pen, which is by far easier, uses a medical cauterizing pen to follow the stencil. My braille brands were done with the pen. My girl's I Cheng brands were done with the strike method. Do research and practice on raw chicken (with the skin) for a while. It doesn't hurt the flavor of the chicken. ;-) Master Fire

Firemaam, does it involve a lot of pain for the slave? Do you have them tied while you do it?

The strike method can also use a single strike involving the entire design, like a cattle or horse brand is done. Yes, it involves a lot of pain for the slave and it would definitely recommend tieing. Immobilize the area or the entire person if necessary. You can do an experimental run through to guage the slave's reaction using something like electricity - afix leads from a tens unit or something similar to the spot and hit it suddenly with a fair amount of electricity to see precisely what the involuntary movement will be and then you will know how to tie or secure them. If they move and the iron (brand) slides, the results are pretty nasty.

It is not recomended to brand with a big thick iron like on cattle cause the brand will spread and blurr.

fast reply We have been doing temporary branding for many years, as well as a couple of permanent ones. (hence why we switched to temp, we likes the asthetics of the play). Due to the nature of public boards, and the hubub branding topics seem to draw, I refrain from going into too much detail, feel free to mail me with any questions.

After many years, I have come to the point where I prefer a tattoo to a brand, I think they look better on a slave...but that's just me. Be Well, Darkside

single closed brand designs eg a star or such, shouldn't be done in one brand ... everything I have read, learned, seen on friends etc says humans respond best with several strokes for complex designs .... as any welded join etc heats at a different temperature and causes different levels of burn/scarification ..... so you get very uneven marking ..... and anything not designed to be used on humans can be very messy indeed you can mix tattooing, cutting and branding .. and create some excellent effects .... Like you Darkside smiles I personaly have a prefference for tattoos .... although I have seen beautiful work in all the styles

If a single piece of steel wire is used to shape the design, welds are unnecessary. The design shouldn't get too complicated, as scar tissue will just mar the shape. You don't happen to have any links or pics of tattoos, cuttings and/or brands mixed do you? it would like to see some of the possible visual effects - it sounds interesting. :)
