I must admit  ... I do like  teasing uber male  dominants ...the ones who think they are  the  bees  knees ....  and the cats whiskers .....I enjoy turning them into Minx's toys  if  the press me to hard... with their 'I am the Ultimate Authority and Master'

*warm smile* ....well they do make it so very easy to tease them

For some reason some Doms don't think that you can be Dominant AND be a nice person to be around at the same time.
I disagree, going around with your nose up in the air doesn't make you Dominant it makes you look pompous.
Are you sure you didn't mean "pompous ass"?

One of the ways I use to make myself a better Dominant is to listen to what a sub has to say. I learn a lot more using my ears and eyes than my mouth.
I'm thinking we have two ears & one mouth & using them proportionately is our best course of action, whether Dom or sub.

"Top's disease,"  the tendency for some Dom/mes to grow into a sense of infallibility or omniscience
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've had to eat some crow in the past over this on a personal level. It happened when I was into this about five years. Fortunately, a sense of reality and of how badly it was effecting my ability to relate competently managed to help me get past it.
I feel that a bit of humility is essential in a Dominant being able to lead a well balanced life. Mistakes are how we learn not to make the same ones. Denial of them dooms repetition.
Ever had to deal with Top's disease?
Much as I hate to admit it...yeah, I have.  It still happens rarely...usually when, as someone else pointed out, I'm not feeling all that secure about something.
The first time I was brought down to earth was when a submissive friend of mine whispered in my ear, with a smile on her face...you know CD, you really AREN'T the end-all/be-all.  If you were, then all the rest of these submissives would be climbing over me to get to you...and I'm still in one piece.
Of course...I still know inside that I AM the Lord High Grand Puba...Grand for short, if you like.
Hello A/all,
As Dorothy Parker said "A person who can laugh at themself will
never cease to be entertained."
Words I live by.
Just me, etc.
I think we've all had to deal with an overinflated sense of self-assurance at some point or another.  It's human nature to get comfortable in what we do, to occasionally begin thinking we're the earth's gift to whatever.  I've noticed that typically right at the point where we start becoming a danger to ourselves or others in our own hubris is when fate sends us a little jolt of reality to knock us back down a peg or two.
I think a bit of humility is essential for anyone trying to maintain a well-balanced life.  After all, no one is perfect.  And if you believe they are, or they tell you they are, someone needs to do a bit of soul-searching.
