It is funny how you can have freedom of speech until it is something someone does not like.  Interesting how that goes.  Well, they can always plug their damn ears or go to a different thread.

Anyways, I enjoyed that because I have been going through hell for the last two months.  It is a refreshing reminder that there is always someone out there that would gladly walk in My shoes.  It puts things into perspective.

Awww. that was just mean!

Ooops sorry. Didn't know sweet syupy stuff was off limits to opinions. Still, might want to leave God, people etc out of things, so as to be neutral.

Please see thread on Political Correctness.   I'm not going to change a ^&*( thing !

I think I already bitched on that one too [:D] Don't want to leave anyone out [:@]

A girl cant look bad on her wedding day ..geeze *grin*

It's the day she looked good enough to marry. Or the many days. I'd marry her if she were covered in pigshit if she was the one for me.

cuddleheart50 -> RE: A Thought for the Day (8/5/2006 8:45:00 PM)

Well, at least your not selective.

MmakeMme -> RE: A Thought for the Day (8/5/2006 8:46:14 PM)

But then what on earth would the wedding party throw during the recessional?

May I interest you in some Midol, Sir :)?

Kedikat -> RE: A Thought for the Day (8/5/2006 9:34:55 PM)

But really, what does this mean?
Suppose I was in this circle and I had incurable cancer, someone else was bitching about their hangnail? I'd trade em.
I mean, what is this about? It makes no sense. Is it some Christian koan? Look at the words. It is drivel. I am sorry, I am being literal and sensible, but it makes no sense.

Lol, Lotus, good one!
And don't change a thing.

No thanks. Explain the words you posted instead, that is what is in my mind, not a headache.
I have seen nice thoughts by you and others, but this particular one makes no sense.

Well, at least your not selective.

so it's the dress she wears to the wedding?
Or are you just chiming in lamely?
My ideal was pure and wonderful, the person, not her clothes.
Tighten up.

Man am I in a harsh frame of mind! So tighten up.

Are you feeling better today?

It does make sense.  You've just strained yourself too hard over the "God" issue.  Take God out of it.  Does it make a bit more sense now?

The way I saw it, it just meant that:
a.) everyone has problems
b.) somewhere, someone else's problems will always be worse than your own
c.) people know how to best deal with their own problems
d.) be grateful that life hasn't tossed you the problems of someone who has it
worse.  In fact, just be grateful in general.

I'm going to share something with you, Kedikat, that I find very helpful in my own life.  I don't mean this rudely or condescendingly at all.  I live my life by the philosophy, "Anything done in kindness, meant in kindness, should be accepted in kindness."  Basically, who cares if God is mentioned in the vignette?  It still has a good underlying moral.  These types of stories aren't meant to be disected and put on trial.  They are supposed to provide a fleeting moment of hope and inspiration in this ephemeral existance.  Take the message with the kindness and grace with which it was offered.  Your blood pressure will go down.  I guarantee it.  [;)]  And if that's not enough, the phrase "Don't sweat the small stuff" is just as valid.

No.. sorry the word God gives you such an anal mental state.  It's JUST a fable (more or less)  I could have used the GREAT GREEN FROG but then PETA would have come down on me!.. The "drivle" is this":

People bitch about their lives. When faced with alternatives to rid themselves of their problems by a means such as "leave one, take one -if it so bad".. The grass suddenly IS NOT greener on the other side.

If you HAD to choose a problem from the pile- what would you choose?  It made me think as I read posts about other people's problems on here.. (I'll keep my MS thankyouverymuch.)

Sorry you got so upset Kedikat. Please feel free to block my posts so you will no longer be offended by them.

My Thought for the Day is By Helen Keller

"I am only one;
But Still I am one.
I cannot do everthing,
But still I can do something
I will not refuse to do
the something I can do."
