ok- bush seeeks to reduce taxes.

i bought some junk at thrift store. i pay utilities, property tax, per capita tax- to name a few.

since bush have been in office- i see these as higher due to inflation.

i live a modest life and dont go overboard on luxuries.

if congress is a public servant, why cant their pay be the average $, of that of the voters in thier district.

heres my rant,
outsource congresses non-social security, INTO social security.

Don't worry pahunkboy,

When Paris gets her $40,000 tax break next season, you will get your 7 dollars.  Don't spend it all in one place, and count your blessings that you are not a single mother trying to find a way to afford childcare for your kids so you can maintain your job, and thus your home (then, be grateful that though she could afford a team of nannies, Paris hasn't spawned yet.. her kids wont pay taxes on the money her family has not paid tax on either!)

PS_ i got a nasty letter from the local tax!

not only do i owe 2.89, but an extra $20.00 nonfile fee  and 4%

the state outsourced it to a private firm!

i happily filled out the form. found deductions. so that they owe me 2.63    [and i demanded 4%,  .10]

however i cant escape the 20 fee.

well- when the see my great math and side notes. [nothing negative]

they will think a 5 yr old did it.  they treat me like im 5.  i practiacally used a crayon. lots of staples scotch tape, rather then shorting the check a dime i went over a dime.....

they never sent the form.

if you earned $263.00 look out in my town. they want thier tax!

puella -> RE: i added up my tax cuts RANT (8/6/2006 7:58:54 AM)

Put down the monkey, Paris.... did you see she bought some exotic monkey like creature (and I believe it was a rare if not endangered species.. she got in trouble for that) and brought it to a fashion show like her little doggie/accessory?  It proceeded to attack her and others in the audience...

What an idiot!

LOL, no, I didn't see that, but it sounds just like her-- too wealthy and too weird for her own good.

I wonder if the simian was related to Michael Jackson's Bobo?

Archer -> RE: i added up my tax cuts RANT (8/6/2006 8:33:59 AM)

Always funny to watch the complaints when peoplee fail to grasp the basic idea of %.

Also funny to watch people blame taxes that Bush has nothing to do with on him.

Property Tax is a local or State issue, as are sales taxes.

And trotting out Paris Hilton is about as fair as someone tossing in a 7th generation welfare mother and her unearned income credit on taxes which she has never paid.

Level -> RE: i added up my tax cuts RANT (8/6/2006 8:37:14 AM)

Archer, I think using either is fair, as long as they're correctly held up as examples of a portion of a very complex issue.

Archer -> RE: i added up my tax cuts RANT (8/6/2006 9:02:33 AM)

But in both cases they tend to be used as whipping boys for class warfare. Which accomplishes nothing.

The issue is complex enough without trotting out the whipping boys, before the issue is even discussed.

Bollocks with fair! ~ shoving into in the Something For Nothing line ~

Yes, they can be, the "poor = lazy leech" and "rich = greedy and heartless" stereotypes. Got to agree, there.

My friend...... the Bush tax cuts are a total fallacy. If the dollar has been depreciated by 35-44 percent and Bush has reduced your income tax/ capital gains tax by 10 percent, that still equates to 25 -34 percent tax increase in realistic terms. The depreciation of the dollar equates to a ''hidden tax’’.

It's one thing to have a sovereign currency deflate..... And then everything else in the economy deflates with it..... But when you have a fiat currency, like the dollar, deflate and then the ''cost of goods'' keeps rising - That is recipe for a continued decrease in the standard of living for the middle-class people in this country.

The other thing I never see discussed here and I'm positive not many think about or take into consideration, is that fact that under the Bush administration, the ''power structure'' that constitutes the federal government has become vastly more domineering..... And with that dominance comes the ability to suck more money away from the revenue stream that would normally go to the states/ state governments.

So what happens? The states/state governments still need the money, right? So these local and statewide governments increase local and state taxes or look for other creative means to provide more revenue for funding. The creative methods come in the form of all types ''user fees'' ''permits'' ''increased municipal and utility taxes'', ''new taxes’’, ''local income'' taxes.... and every other trick in the book. So if anyone here thinks that they're actually paying fewer taxes under Bush than anyone else..... They obviously haven't looked at the big picture.
