SweetlyMisguided -> Looking for those in the same shoes... (12/16/2004 9:01:31 AM)

Yeah... first thought as I post this... [:'(]

I'm looking for people who are currently standing in the same shoes as me... Those with their S/Os deployed and over in the sandbox.

I'm not taking it well... and it'd be nice to have others to talk with who are actually going through the same thing right now!

I'm not in the same shoes SM, but I only saw my husband 39 days of the first year we were married, and got very good in later years of being alone during 3-6 month deployments if you want someone to talk to.

There are probably some support boards online that might help you. Maybe if you google something like "military spouse support". It seems like aol, yahoo and msn have support boards for every imaginable situation. Good luck with it.

I believe the military also has numerous support groups. I know it did while I was in Desert Storm. I'm sure this war is no different. Check with the base.

Sweetly ... you do!! You have your ombudsman ... who is a spouse of one of your s/o's fellow warriors, you've got Family Supprt groups (the Navy has the Fleet and Family Support Services), you've got the command Chaplaincy program, the USO, the Red Cross .. the list goes on. There's also the Command Seargent Major, Top Seargent, First Shirt, or Master Chief -- depending on your branch of the service. The VFW and American Legion might also be a source of support.
