DaddyLove07 -> Who/what is funny to you? (8/6/2006 1:20:55 PM)

I enjoy the more juvenile, slapstick styles of comedy, IE: the three stooges, dumb & dumber, three's company, our gang, etc.

The single funniest person I know is my younger brother, he can make me laugh so hard I nearly pass out anytime he wants.

How about all of you?

Level -> RE: Who/what is funny to you? (8/6/2006 1:31:25 PM)

Jim Carrey, Dave Chappelle, 3 Stooges, Marx Bros, Richard Pryor, Monty Python, Mel Brooks, Howard Stern, SNL.....

The Cable Guy cracks me up!  I've got a very weird sense of humor.  [:D]

MmakeMme -> RE: Who/what is funny to you? (8/6/2006 1:50:41 PM)

Johnny Carson, The Smothers Brothers, Dave Chappelle, Dave Atell. And when it comes to friends, I am drawn to those with dry senses of humor (but who can also ~ zing ~ with the best of 'em).

philosophy -> RE: Who/what is funny to you? (8/6/2006 1:54:45 PM)

Terry Pratchett, Terry Gilliam (when he wants to be), Ian Hislop

popeye1250 -> RE: Who/what is funny to you? (8/6/2006 2:04:50 PM)

The Three Stooges are Gods.
("You men ever sold anything?" "Why SOITENLY!" "Here we are, three of the best salesmen who ever saled!")

Also, Buddy Hackett was always hillarious, George Burns, Steven Wright, Steve Martin (In the movie "My Blue Heaven") Leslie Nielson is a very dry guy, Leno over that other late night guy, oh Letterman (Seems like he has to "try" to be funny) Larry the Cable Guy and Jeff Foxworth and of course the late great Jackie Gleason and Rodney Dangerfield (who I saw live once!)

Yes, add Nielsen to my list (Airplane is a classic), and I really miss Larry the Cable Guy's commentaries that he had on his site.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Who/what is funny to you? (8/6/2006 3:48:35 PM)

Just about anything by Joss Whedon.

And my older partner makes me laugh all the time.  He truly is one of the funniest people I've ever known.

Theslavetrainer -> RE: Who/what is funny to you? (8/6/2006 3:56:07 PM)

I like Mencia too, redpetals. He's bold and doesn't give a fuck all about "politicly correctness". I also like Jon Stewart's Daily Show on the Comedy Network. He doesn't give me a good laugh like Eddy Izzard though.

gooddogbenji -> RE: Who/what is funny to you? (8/6/2006 4:02:30 PM)

Anything stupid is good.

And if it offends someone, chances are I'll laugh.

Yours,

benji

Steven Colbert
South Park

George Bush (not when he's joking -- just when he's trying to act intelligent)

Aileen68 -> RE: Who/what is funny to you? (8/6/2006 5:33:59 PM)

Dave Chappelle.
I'm Rick James,  bitch!

windchymes -> RE: Who/what is funny to you? (8/6/2006 5:41:39 PM)

Kathy Griffin, all the Blue Collar Comedy guys, Steven Lynch, George Carlin, Carlos Mencia, Bill Cosby, Lily Tomlin (from the Ernestine and Edith Anne days), old Cheech & Chong routines like "Sister Mary Elephant", Gilda Radner.

I really miss Mystery Science Theatre 3K.  Corny as it was, it had me rolling on the floor. Sometimes you just need something simple and corny and slapsticky to make you forget about the shit that happened yesterday.

Also, if anyone here's heard of DaVinci's Notebook (based in the Washington DC area, but not performing together anymore)....their rendition of "Enormous Penis" is hysterical.

Yep, I've heard the Da Vinci guys quite a bit on Bob and Tom, who aren't too shabby at comedy either.
