My appologies if this has been hashed out here before and my searching skills are less than stellar.

Sensory deprivation is a strong interest of mine, and I've long wondered about how a "floating" or "isolation" tank might be employed within the sphere of bdsm (if unfamiliar with the apparatus, check http://www.samadhitank.com/index.html#FloatationTankDescription).

Seeing as a total lack of physical stimuli occurs while you're inside these, I'd think much could be done with the mental/psychological aspects of a D/s relationship, or even just a scene..."voice of G*d" kinda thing (many models also allow for external control of sound, water temperature, and so on). I also wonder about the relative sanity of a scenario in which someone would be repeatedly placed in a tank and pulled out to recieve intense physical stimulation in revolutions.
Does anyone here have experience with this? Any thoughts on its potential to cross a dangerous threshold and "break" someone?

It sounds too dangerous for my tastes, the human mind is just to fragile to play such games with.

Sounds dicey...but also delicious. Bathroom breaks (and general communication) might pose a challenge however.

If I get to sing while in the tank, let me know if you need a test subject.

For me personally the answer is no. I don't think a tank would be able to break me. When I've done the flotation tanks I just fall asleep. I'm one who wakes up alert and ready to move too.
I'm sure for some people this indeed could be a completely different experience than mine & may be a powerful thing for them. For myself it would just be a boaring thing much like scrubbing the floors is. I'd do it if it pleased one I submitted to, but it would be for him & not really for me.

It's a good idea to procede with great caution when toying with the human mind.

Off topic a little, it's always something that bothers me to hear people talking about "training," when they have yet to train a well behaved dog.

Uh, exactly *how* off topic is that? 'Cause I'm not seeing a single instance of the word "training" anywhere above. I sense that I might've been misunderstood, so please clarify for me, if you will, Kennel.
