cheshireboy -> music of the moment (8/7/2006 9:27:18 PM)

i read so many threads, hell, even started one up myself about what song defines the essense of you....well, i been thinking about it and i came to realize a few things...guess i am in that reflective mode, and my life never been defined by just one song, but a whole soundtrack that is constantly shifting and changing...depending on the moment.  with that in mind, those moments when i feel very naked, in the non sexual sense, this is the song that describes me.

Artist: Anna Nalick Lyrics
Song: Breathe (2 AM) Lyrics

2 AM and she calls me 'cause I'm still awake,
can you help me unravel my latest mistake,
I don't love him, winter just wasn't my season
Yeah we walk through the doors, so accusing their eyes
Like they have any right at all to critisize,
hypocrites, you're all here for the very same reason

'Cause you can't jump the track,we're like cars on a cable
and life's like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button girl,
So cradle your head in you hands
And breathe, just breathe,
Woah breathe, just breathe

May he turn 21 on the base at Fort Bliss
Just today he sat down to the flask in his fist,
Ain't been sober, since maybe October of last year.
Here in town you can tell he's been down for a while,
But my God it's so beautiful when the boy smiles,
Wanna hold him, maybe I'll just sing about it.

Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable,
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table.
No one can find the rewind button boys,
So cradle your head in your hands,
And breathe, just breathe,
Woah breathe, just breahte

There's a light at each end of this tunnel, you shout
But you're just as far in as you'll ever be out
These mistakes you've made, you'll just make them again
If you only try turning around.

2 AM and I'm still awake, writing a song
If I get it all down on paper, its no longer
inside of me, threatening the life they belong to
And i feel like I'm naked in front of the crowd
Cause these words are my diary, screaming out loud
And I know that you'll use them, however you want to

Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable,
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button now
Sing it if you understand.
and breathe, just breathe
woah breathe, just breathe,
oh breathe, just breathe.

so what song describes you this very moment in time?

Lifehouse - Everything

find me here
and speak to me
I want to feel you
I need to hear you
you are the light
that's leading me
to the place
where I find peace again

you are the strength
that keeps me walking
you are the hope
that keeps me trusting
you are the life
to my soul
you are my purpose
you're everything

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this yeah

you calm the storms
and you give me rest
you hold me in your hands
you won't let me fall
you still my heart
and you take my breath away
would you take me in
take me deeper now

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

cause you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

Alot of songs seems to define me.

Right now the one that calms my soul is
Grace like Rain by Todd Agnew

I dont have the words handy.....but it is a variation of Amazing Grace.

I am a chrisitan....I cant go to church for my reasons....I am with my God when I listen to Contempary Christian music.  This is when I feel him most...and when I talk to him.  I havent had my TV on in days....I am a TV addict....I have been listening to music...most christian...some are just really old songs I have always liked....those are sweet memories, well most of them.

He gets me through difficult days....he has answered many of my constant prayers in just a few short days.

I would be lost without him.

Amarillo by Morning.. George Strait

Amarillo by mornin' up from San Antone
They took my saddle in Houston, broke my leg in Sante Fe

Everything that I got is just what I got on
Lost my wife and a girlfriend somewhere along the way

When that sun is high in that Texas sky
But I'll be looking for eight when they pull that gate

I'll be buckin at the county fair
and I hope that judge ain't blind

Amarillo by mornin' Amarillo I'll be there
Amarillo by mornin' Amarillo's on my mind

Amarillo by mornin' up from San Antone
Everything that I got is just what I got on
I ain't got a dime but what I got is mine
I ain't rich but Lord I'm free
Amarillo by mornin' Amarillo's where I'll be
Amarillo by mornin' Amarillo's where I'll be

Emperor1956 -> RE: music of the moment (8/7/2006 10:09:19 PM)

I often feel that Holly Cole is singing right to my heart.  She also does so many songs that are related to D/s that I think (probably a total fantasy and stalker material) that she must be into B/D/S/M.  I have no idea if she is.  Anyway, this song does it for Me:

Cry if you want to
I won't tell you not to
I won’t try to cheer you up
I'll just be here if you want me

Its no use in keeping a stiff upper lip
You can weep you can sleep you can loosen your grip
You can frown you can drown and go down with the ship
You cry if you want to
Don’t ever apologize venting your pain
Its something to me you don’t need to explain
I don’t need to know why
I don’t think it’s insane
You can cry if you want to

The windows are closed
The neighbors aren’t home
If it’s better with me than to do it alone
I'll draw all the curtains and unplug the phone
You can cry if you want to

You can stare at the ceiling and tear at your hair
Swallow your feelings and stager and swear
You could show things and throw things and I wouldn’t care
You can cry if you want to

I won’t make fun of you
I won’t tell any one
I won’t analyze what you do or you should have done
I won’t advise you to go and have fun
You can cry if you want to

Well it’s empty and ugly and terribly sad
I can’t feel what you feel but I know it feels bad
I know that its real and it makes you so mad
You could cry

Cry if you want to I won’t tell you not to
I won’t try and cheer you up
Ill just be here if you want me; to be
Near you

I'm rather addicted to Holly Cole, but I've never noticed a BDSM theme/under tone...now I'm going to be relistening to everything with a completely different frame of mind...heheh.  And I blame you! ;)

nefertari -> RE: music of the moment (8/7/2006 11:56:53 PM)

When I was descending into a depression it was Sick Cycle Carousel by Lifehouse.  When I was scary depressed it was Crawling by Linkin Park.  I really like Breathe by Anna Nalick.  Right now, I would have to say it's Through the Glass by Stone Sour.

Through the Glass by Stone Sour
I'm looking at you through the glass...
Don't know how much time has passed
Oh god it feels like forever
But no none ever tells you that forever
Feels like home sitting all alone inside your head

How do you feel?  That is the question
But I forget...you don't expect an easy answer
When something like a soul becomes
Initialized and folded up like paper dolls and little notes
You can't expect a bit of hope
And while you're outside looking in
Describing what you see
Remember what you're staring at is me

Cause I'm looking at you through the glass...
Don't know how much time has passed
All I  know is that it feels like forever
When no one ever tells you that forever
Feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head

How much is real?  So much to question
And never dare make up the mannequins
Contaminating everything
When thought came from the heart
It never did right from the start
Just listen to the noises
(No more sad voices)
Before you tell yourself
It's just a different scene
Remember it's just different from what you've seen

I'm looking at you through the glass...
Don't know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
When no one ever tells you that forever
Feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head

And it's the starrrrssss
The starrrrrsss
That shine for you
It's the starrrrrssss
That lie to you...yeah-ah

(Chorus)

I always thought this was called "Armadillos are Moaning" [8|]

LaTigresse -> RE: music of the moment (8/8/2006 7:04:15 AM)

All lovely songs but there is no way I could even begin to list my favourites. I can start a morning with classical, move into Norah Jones, move into some Santana, Aerosmith, some really old southern blues, bluegrass or Etta and then some Aretha........or hell Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd.......see it all depends on what I feel like. It could even be Waylan and Willie or George Jones.
