Boxing is not okay.  Bdsm is okay.  Just most people don't
understand it.  Our society is much more friendly to violence
than to sex.  Look at television.  You can thank Christianity
for this.

wake up and smell the coffee.... BDSM doesn't equate to sex.  In fact .... the SM component is very much equated to violence.

However, many incorporate Sex and their Sexuality with BDSM.... they are distinct but coexist nicely.

You should consider switching to decaf.  To the majority of the vanilla population, BDSM is just kinky sex.  The reality of the situation doesn't figure into their perceptions at all.

Ignorance is bliss... but in this day of knowledge... it is becoming harder and harder to stay ignorant.  What outsiders percieved today is different than yesterday and will be different tomorrow.

Hell... it was too long in the past that oral sex was considered a taboo of sexual interactions.. now it a part of mainstream's perception of sex.  Just as society's perception of sex has changed and will continue to change... so will their perceptions of BDSM.

Do you honestly consider yourself a part of the vanilla population?

Why do you feel society frowns so severely on S&M contact & can accept the other intense activities?

I dont think they do.  Furthermore, most bdsmers, in my view,  are naive when they think that 'vanilla' people havent a clue, or condemn S and M.  Id be willing to bet that most "vanillas" have experienced it at some point in their sex lives, or at least fantasize about it, or have done some 'lighter' play without even realizing its "S and M".   We're not special and we didnt invent the "spankin".

People fear that which they don't understand and people who are different than them.  Vanillia people
look us, the same way some of us look at consensual-nonconsensuality or Dolcett.  They think
anyone into bdsm must be sick, perverted, mentally ill, and dangerous.  People have all kinds of
fears. They think we tie up young women against their will and beat them with chains, the
way they did in the Middle ages to extract confessions.  That is why I believe a R-rated
documentry would be good to show how light bddsm look.  Moreover, they can't
understand what anyone would get out of letting another person whip them.
